A statement from the Lansing Lugnuts on former Lansing mayor David Hollister, who passed away Tuesday, September 22.
It is with great sadness that we mourn David Hollister, to whom we owe the very existence of Jackson Field and the Lansing Lugnuts. We pass along our heartfelt condolences to the Hollister family.
31 years ago, Mayor Hollister worked tirelessly to bring baseball back to Mid Michigan, revitalizing downtown Lansing. Mayor Hollister's love of the national pastime was matched by his vision for what he felt Lansing could become. We are proud to carry his legacy forward.
