
When the prestigious, prospect-filled Arizona Fall League opens its 30-game schedule on October 3, the rosters will look a little Nuts.
The Mesa Solar Sox, comprising prospects from the Athletics, Cubs, Red Sox, Angels and Blue Jays' organizations, will include...
• Pitcher Tucker Novotny, who fired five scoreless innings with six strikeouts in the final game of the year and posted a 1.87 ERA / 0.95 WHIP in his final 33 2/3 innings, striking out 40 while walking just nine.
• Outfielder Breyson Guedez, just 18 years old, who batted .268 in 29 games with the Lugnuts after impressing in Single-A Stockton.
• Pitcher Jay Dill, a fleeting memory in 2026: two games totaling three innings before the A's whisked him up the ladder from Lansing to Double-A Midland.
• Catcher/infielder Davis Diaz, the first 2026 Midwest League Player of the Week after a dominating performance at Fort Wayne, who jumped from Lansing to Midland to Triple-A Las Vegas by season's end.
• Catcher Cole Conn, a Lugnuts fan favorite in 2024 and 2025 who excelled in Midland, earned a ticket up to Triple-A, and is now knocking on the Major League door.
• Pitcher Kenya Huggins, who finished the 2025 season with the Lugnuts after being acquired from Cincinnati at the trade deadline, and spent the full 2026 season in Double-A.
• Pitcher Kyle Robinson, reunited with his former teammates, who was traded by the A's to the Pittsburgh Pirates shortly before he was scheduled to start vs. Quad Cities on May 15, thus opening the door for Ryan Magdic's stunning breakout campaign. And then Robinson was traded again, this time by the Pirates to the Angels at the 2026 trade deadline, finishing the year with the Double-A Rocket City Trash Pandas.
Lastly, the AFL will also include such Michigan notables Caleb Bonemer (White Sox top prospect, born in Lansing, drafted out of Okemos High School) and Ike Irish (Orioles top prospect, grandson of Michigan Baseball Hall of Famer Jake Boss, Sr.).
