
Syracuse, New York (September 15, 2026) – The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (32-37, 67-77) dropped their series opener of the final week of the campaign with a 9-1 loss to the Syracuse Mets (39-30, 77-67) on Tuesday night at NBT Bank Stadium.
The Mets were off and running early getting a two-run double in the first from Vidal Brujan before doubling the lead thanks to a Jefferson Rojas two-run homer in the second.
D’Andre Smith kept the theme of pairs going as he joined in with a two-run homer in the sixth before the ‘Pigs got their only run of the night on Otto Kemp’s solo homer in the eighth.
The Mets responded in force however as Ronny Mauricio added one with an RBI single and Brujan singled home two more to make it 9-1.
In a bullpen game, Ben Simon (W, 4-4) got the victory with the Mets with a two scoreless inning effort while Brian Keller (L, 1-7) allowed four runs over five frames to take the loss for the ‘Pigs.
The ‘Pigs and Mets continue their series on Wednesday, September 16th with first pitch slated for 6:35 p.m. at NBT Bank Stadium. Alan Rangel gets the ball for the ‘Pigs against Jonathan Santucci for Syracuse.
