Keaton Anthony posts multi-hit game with an RBI double

Moosic, Pennsylvania (September 2, 2026) – The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (28-30, 63-70) could not keep pace with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (33-24, 70-61) bats, falling 9-2 on Wednesday night at PNC Field.

The ‘Pigs had the first bite of the apple as Keaton Anthony doubled home a run in the top of the first, but SWB clapped back with four runs on six hits in the bottom half. Three straight RBI singles from Jasson Dominguez, JC Escarra, and Marco Luciano made it 3-1 before Oswaldo Cabrera drove in another with a fielder’s choice.

Yanquiel Fernandez blasted a two-run homer in the third to make it 6-1 before a Max Schuemann solo homer in the fifth made it 7-1.

Otto Kemp belted a solo homer of his own in the seventh to cut into the deficit, but another Fernandez two-run blast made it 9-2 in the bottom half.

Alexander Cornielle (W, 5-3) spun five innings of one-run ball for the RailRiders in relief to earn the win while Casey Lawrence (L, 1-1) took his first loss as a ‘Pig, allowing seven runs in 4.1 innings.

The ‘Pigs and RailRiders continue their series on Thursday, September 3rd with first pitch set for 7:05 p.m. at PNC Field. Alan Rangel gets the ball for the ‘Pigs against Brenden Beck for SWB.
