August 8th, 2026

Worcester, Massachusetts (August 8, 2026) – The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (17-21, 52-61) had no answers for an offensive onslaught from the Worcester Red Sox (24-13, 60-48) falling 19-0 on Saturday afternoon at Polar Park.

The 19 run margin of defeat marks the largest loss in ‘Pigs history, surpassing the 28-10 to the Durham Bulls on April 9, 2024.

Worcester plated five straight away in the first inning, bouncing ‘Pigs starter Brian Keller (L, 0-3) after recording just one out. Romy Gonzalez and Allan Castro singled home runs to start the scoring before a wild pitch scored another. Tsung-Che Cheng then singled home a pair to make it 5-0.

Mikey Romero blasted a two-run homer in the second before a six-run fourth blew the doors off the game. Back-to-back hit-by-pitches with the bases loaded to Cheng and Braiden Ward made it 9-0 before Adley Rutschman doubled home two and Nate Eaton followed up with a two-run single.

Kristian Campbell continued to pour it on with a two-run homer in the fifth before sacrifice flies in the sixth and seventh tacked on two more. An RBI fielder’s choice and another run-scoring hit-by-pitch made it 19-0 in the eighth.

Gage Ziehl (W, 1-0) began the shutout bid for the WooSox, striking out eight over 5.2 spotless frames.

The ‘Pigs and WooSox wrap up their series on Sunday, August 9th at Polar Park with first pitch scheduled for 1:05 p.m. Alan Rangel gets the start for the ‘Pigs while the WooSox go with Blake Wehunt.
