It was a homer for Worcester that opened the scoring as Allan Castro went deep in the first for a 1-0 lead before a Carter Kieboom RBI double in the bottom half equalized for the ‘Pigs.
Payton Henry slugged a solo homer to put the ‘Pigs ahead in the second before Gabriel Rincones Jr. hit a two-run shot to extend the lead to 4-1.
A Tsung-Che Cheng RBI triple got a run back for the WooSox in the fourth and he then scored on a Tomas Nido RBI groundout to make it 4-3. Braiden Ward slugged a solo homer right after to tie the game at 4-4.
The game didn’t stay knotted for long as Otto Kemp ripped a two-out, two-run single to put the ‘Pigs in front for good in the last of the fourth.
A Paul McIntosh solo homer restored the ‘Pigs three-run edge in the sixth, but the WooSox got back to within two on a Castro RBI groundout in the seventh.
Lou Trivino III (S, 8) picked up a pair of punchouts in the ninth to close the game, stranding the tying run at first base.
