Allentown, Pennsylvania (July 30, 2026) – The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (14-16, 49-56) earned a doubleheader split against the Buffalo Bisons (16-14, 51-54), dropping the front end 1-0 before rallying for a 5-3 win in game two on Thursday night at Coca-Cola Park.
Game One
The only run of the opening game came in the very first inning when Charles McAdoo legged out an infield single to score Ismael Munguia for Buffalo.
The ‘Pigs threatened with the bases loaded in the second, a one-out double in the fourth, runners on the corners in the fifth, and two on in the sixth, but finished 0-for-9 with runners in scoring position.
Brendan Cellucci (3-2) got the win for Buffalo, working 1.2 innings relief as part of the four-hit shutout. Chase Lee (S, 5) went the final 1.2 with two strikeouts to earn the save.
Chuck King (L, 7-5) took the tough luck loss for the ‘Pigs, allowing the game’s only run over five innings of work, striking out five.
Game Two
A Rudy Martin Jr. RBI single got Buffalo on the board first in the second inning, but Kameron Misner equalized for the ‘Pigs with his first homer in the third.
Martin struck again for Buffalo in the fourth with a two-run single to put the Bisons back in control.
With two outs in the fourth, Tommy Pham smacked his first homer as a ‘Pig, a two-run shot, to tie the game. After loading the bases later in the frame, Christian Cairo legged out an infield single to plate the go-ahead run, with a throwing error on the play allowing another run to score as well.
Michael Mercado (S, 3) worked around three hits over the final two frames, but did not allow a run as he punched out five to earn the save for the ‘Pigs. Drake Fellows (W, 3-1) earned his second straight win, allowing just three runs over five frames.
Richard Gallardo (L, 0-3) took the loss for the Bisons, allowing five runs (four earned) over 4.2 innings.
The ‘Pigs and Bisons continue their series on Friday, July 31st with first pitch scheduled for 6:45 p.m. at Coca-Cola Park. Andrew Painter will go for the ‘Pigs while Buffalo has yet to tab a starter.
