Allentown, Pennsylvania (August 11, 2026) – For the second straight game the Lehigh Valley Pitties (19-21, 54-61) were down to their final three outs trailing by multiple runs but managed to rally, stunning the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (24-14, 61-51) with three in the ninth inning to rally for a 5-4 win on Tuesday night at Coca-Cola Park Park.
SWB was on the board first thanks to a bunt RBI hit for Max Schuemann in the first inning, but Payton Henry tied the game with a solo homer in the second for the Pitties.
Oswaldo Cabrera restored Scranton’s lead with a two-run homer in the third. Carter Kieboom cut the Pitties deficit to one with an RBI double in the sixth, but he was thrown out at the plate to end the frame trying to score on a Henry base hit.
SWB restored their two-run lead in the seventh on a Jasson Dominguez RBI single, and took that 4-2 lead in the last of the ninth.
Kieboom walked before Henry was hit by a pitch to start the ninth for the Pitties. After a flyout, Keaton Anthony singled home a run, with pinch-runner Steward Berroa motoring over to third base, representing the tying run. Gabriel Rincones Jr. then stepped up and ripped a double off the wall in left-centerfield, scoring Berroa to tie the game with pinch-runner Felix Reyes hot on his heels sliding across the plate to win the game, 5-4.
Max Lazar (W, 4-1) posted a clean ninth to set the stage for the Pitties comeback while Eric Reyzelman (L, 1-2) was charged with all three runs in the ninth for SWB, taking the loss.
The Pitties and RailRiders continue their series on Wednesday, August 12th with first pitch set for 6:45 p.m. at Coca-Cola Park. Drake Fellows gets the ball for the Pitties while Xavier Rivas goes for SWB.
