Following a breakout defensive season that included his Major League debut, former Louisville Bats outfielder Carlos Jorge has been named one of nine recipients of the 2026 Rawlings Minor League Baseball Gold Glove Award.

Jorge is just one of three outfielders across all of Minor League Baseball to earn the honor, joining Druw Jones (Arizona Diamondbacks) and Carson Roccaforte (Kansas City Royals). He also becomes the first Bats player to earn a Rawlings Minor League Gold Glove since shortstop Blake Trahan in 2018.

Jorge began the 2026 season with Double-A Chattanooga, playing in 59 games without making an error before earning a promotion to the Bats for his Triple-A debut on June 30. With the Bats, he appeared in 29 games in the outfield, recording just two errors in 217.2 innings for a .971 fielding percentage in 69 total chances, making four outfield assists. He recorded an outfield assist in two of his first four Triple-A games between June 30-July 3.

Between Chattanooga and Louisville, Jorge posted a .989 fielding percentage with 177 putouts and 10 outfield assists in 88 games. Following his strong play both in the field and at the plate, Jorge was promoted to the Cincinnati Reds for his MLB debut on September 4 and finished the season at the Major League level. In 16 games in the outfield for the Reds, Jorge had a .975 fielding percentage, committing only one error over 98.1 innings.

The Reds originally signed Jorge, 23, as an international free agent out of Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, on January 15, 2021.

Bats baseball returns in 2027, with the season beginning at the St. Paul Saints on Friday, March 26. Opening Night at Louisville Slugger Field is scheduled for Tuesday, March 30 against the Indianapolis Indians.
