MIDLAND, Texas (September 2, 2026) – Minor League Baseball has named RockHounds right-hander Kenya Huggins as Texas League South pitcher of the week for the week of August 24-30.
Huggins made two appearances against the Tulsa Drillers last week, earning the win in both games while allowing just one hit across five scoreless innings.
Thursday, August 27, Huggins entered in relief in the fifth, where he went 3.2 innings while only allowing one hit and recording four strikeouts. He returned to the mound on Sunday, August 30, throwing 1.1 hitless innings and recording three strikeouts without allowing a run. In his last four outings, Huggins has given up one run in 10 innings, allowing six hits and 14 strikeouts.
The RockHounds are currently on a six-game road trip in San Antonio to take on the Missions before returning to Momentum Bank Ballpark for their final homestand of the season, September 8-13.
With just 11 games remaining, the RockHounds remain in the playoff hunt, sitting six games back of the division lead and a postseason berth. Fans will have one final opportunity to catch the RockHounds at home next week, with six games and a full lineup of promotions to close out the season, including 2 firework shows.
