BILOXI, MS (August 1, 2026) – The Montgomery Biscuits blasted six home runs and scored 12 runs over the final three innings to rally past the Biloxi Shuckers for a 17-8 victory on Saturday afternoon at Keesler Federal Park.
Montgomery (51-49) struck first in the opening inning when Theo Gillen lined an RBI double to center, scoring Caden Bodine for a 1-0 lead.
Biloxi (54-43) answered in the second as Josh Adamczewski tied the game with a solo home run to right-center.
Austin Overn quickly put the Biscuits back in front with a solo homer to left-center in the third, but the Shuckers responded with a five-run bottom of the inning. Matthew Wood opened the frame with a solo home run before Adamczewski delivered a two-run single and Mike Boeve followed with a two-run single to give Biloxi a 6-2 advantage.
The Biscuits chipped away in the fifth when Gregory Barrios scored on a fielding error by second baseman Jheremy Vargas. Montgomery drew within one in the sixth as Will Simpson and Cooper Kinney hit back-to-back solo home runs, cutting the deficit to 6-5.
Biloxi answered again in the bottom of the sixth when Josiah Ragsdale launched a two-run homer to restore an 8-5 lead.
Montgomery completely flipped the game in the seventh. An error by Vargas allowed Émilien Pitre to score before RBI singles by Kinney, Kenny Piper, and Barrios tied the game and put the Biscuits in front. Overn capped the seven-run inning with a two-run home run to left-center, extending the lead to 12-8.
The Biscuits added five more runs in the eighth. Kinney crushed a grand slam to left field for his second home run of the afternoon before Piper followed with a solo homer, stretching the advantage to 17-8.
Montgomery finished with a season-high 22 hits. Kinney starred with a 4-for-5 night, two home runs, and six RBI. Overn went 3-for-6 with two home runs and three RBI, while Piper finished 3-for-6 with a home run and two RBI. Gillen collected three hits, including an RBI double, and Barrios added three hits and two RBI. Simpson also homered and drove in two runs, while Pitre reached base four times with two hits and two walks.
Jackson Baumeister allowed six runs over 2.2 innings in his start. K.C. Hunt worked three innings of two-run relief before Hayden Snelsire (4-3) earned the win by tossing 2.1 scoreless innings with five strikeouts. Chris Clark finished the game with a scoreless ninth inning.
Biloxi starter Manuel Rodriguez allowed five runs, four earned, over five innings. Jesus Broca (3-4) was charged with the loss after allowing five runs, two earned, in 1.2 innings. Peyton Niksch surrendered seven runs while recording just one out before Sam Garcia and second baseman Jheremy Vargas worked the final two innings.
