
PENSACOLA, FL (August 4, 2026) – The Montgomery Biscuits used a late power surge to defeat the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, 10-2, on Tuesday night at Blue Wahoos Stadium. Montgomery belted four home runs over the final two innings while Santiago Suarez turned in six strong innings to earn the victory.
Montgomery (53-50) broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning. Will Simpson lined an RBI single to center to score Cooper Kinney before Mac Horvath ripped a two-run triple to left, plating Theo Gillen and Simpson for a 3-0 advantage.
The Biscuits added another run in the fifth when Kinney singled to right, bringing home Brock Jones to make it 4-0.
Pensacola (56-47) got on the board in the bottom of the fifth as Ian Lewis Jr. connected on a solo home run to left-center, trimming the deficit to 4-1.
Montgomery answered in the eighth when Xavier Isaac launched a solo home run to right field, extending the lead to 5-1.
The Biscuits put the game away with a five-run ninth inning. Jones led off with a solo homer before Caden Bodine followed with a home run to right-center. Later in the inning, Simpson crushed a three-run homer to left-center, scoring Gillen and Isaac to cap the scoring at 10-1. The homer for Simpson marked his 21st of the season with Montgomery, tying Evan Longoria for the single season franchise record.
Lewis Jr. added his second solo home run of the night in the bottom of the ninth for the game's final run.
Montgomery finished with 13 hits in the victory. Simpson paced the offense by going 4-for-5 with a double, a home run, and four RBI. Horvath drove in two runs with his fourth triple of the season, while Bodine collected two hits, including a home run. Isaac finished with a homer, two walks, and two runs scored, and Jones added a home run and scored twice.
Suarez (6-3) earned the win after allowing one run on eight hits over six innings while striking out four. Jonny Cuevas tossed the final 3.0 innings to record his first save, allowing one run on three hits while striking out two.
