MONTGOMERY, AL (August 11, 2026) – The Montgomery Biscuits rallied after a blown save, using a Will Simpson walk-off double to earn a 7-6 win over the Chattanooga Lookouts on Tuesday night at DABOS Park.
Montgomery took an early lead in the first inning when Caden Bodine launched a solo home run to right-center field, his third of the season, giving the Biscuits a 1-0 advantage.
Chattanooga answered with two runs in the second. Cade Hunter singled home Carter Graham before Kien Vu tripled home Hunter, putting the Lookouts ahead 2-1.
The Biscuits tied the game in the third when Bodine lifted a sacrifice fly to left field, scoring Gregory Barrios, who tripled to leadoff the frame.
Chattanooga regained the lead in the fourth where Peyton Stovall singled home Yerlin Confidan, giving the Lookouts a 3-2 lead.
Montgomery took control in the fifth when Xavier Isaac launched a three-run homer to right-center field, scoring Mac Horvath and Bodine to give the Biscuits a 5-3 lead. The homer marked his 22nd of the season, passing Evan Longoria’s 21 home runs in 2007 to break the single season franchise record.
Isaac added another run in the seventh when Will Simpson lifted a sacrifice fly to right field, extending Montgomery's advantage to 6-3.
Chattanooga mounted a dramatic comeback in the ninth. Carter Graham singled home Carlos Sanchez before Hunter doubled home Ruben Ibarra and Julio Carreras, tying the game at 6-6.
The Biscuits answered in the bottom of the ninth. Isaac reached base and eventually scored on Simpson's walk-off double to center field.
T.J. Nichols worked 6.1 innings for Montgomery, allowing three runs on eight hits while striking out three. Hayden Snelsire followed with 1.2 scoreless innings, while Luis Guerrero allowed three runs in the ninth before Jonny Cuevas retired the final batter and earned the win, improving to 3-1.
Chattanooga's Javi Rivera took the loss after allowing five runs on eight hits over four innings. Floyd and Cannon combined for three innings of relief before Moore surrendered the winning run in the ninth.
Isaac led Montgomery's offense with a 2-for-4 night, including a double and his 22nd home run of the season, while driving in three runs and scoring three times. Bodine went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI, and Simpson finished 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI, including the game-winning hit. Horvath added two hits and scored once, while Cooper Kinney went 2-for-3 with a double and a walk. J.T. Arruda also collected two hits in the win.
