Biscuits Blast Lookouts, 9-2, Win Third Straight

Montgomery hits three home runs in first inning and collects 16 hits in victory

MONTGOMERY, AL (August 12, 2026) – The Montgomery Biscuits scored seven runs in the first inning and cruised to a 9-2 win over the Chattanooga Lookouts on Wednesday night at DABOS Park.

Montgomery jumped out to a commanding lead in the first inning, scoring seven runs against Chattanooga starter Ryan Garcia (0-2). Mac Horvath opened the scoring with a solo home run to left-center field, his 10th of the season. Xavier Isaac followed with a two-run homer to right-center field, scoring Caden Bodine, before Will Simpson added a two-run homer to right field, scoring Theo Gillen.The Biscuits continued the inning with RBI singles from Gregory Barrios and Bodine, with Barrios scoring Tatem Levins and Bodine bringing home J.T. Arruda to cap the seven-run frame.

Chattanooga got on the board in the second when Pablo Aliendo singled home Ruben Ibarra, cutting the deficit to 7-1.

The Lookouts added another run in the fourth on a solo home run from Yerlin Confidan, but Montgomery answered with two runs in the bottom half. Simpson lifted a sacrifice fly to right field to score Bodine before Cooper Kinney doubled home Isaac, extending the Biscuits' lead to 9-2.

Montgomery's pitching staff kept Chattanooga in check the rest of the way. K.C. Hunt allowed two runs over 3.2 innings while striking out four, and Junior William (1-0) earned his first Double-A win after tossing 1.1 scoreless innings. Tommy McCollum, T.J. Fondtain and Justin Yeager combined for four scoreless innings to close out the victory.

Isaac led the Biscuits with a 3-for-4 performance, including his 23rd home run of the season, while driving in two runs and scoring twice. Simpson went 2-for-5 with his 22nd homer and three RBI. Bodine added two hits and an RBI, while Barrios collected three hits and an RBI. Horvath launched his 10th home run of the season, and Gillen went 2-for-5 with a double. Arruda added two hits, while Kinney doubled and drove in a run.
