Biscuits Beat Lookouts, 5-2, Behind Edwards' Six Strong Innings

Montgomery scores four runs in fifth inning to rally past Chattanooga

MONTGOMERY, AL (August 14, 2026) – The Montgomery Biscuits rallied for four runs in the fifth inning and defeated the Chattanooga Lookouts 5-2 on Friday night at DABOS Park.

Montgomery struck first in the bottom of the first when Mac Horvath launched a solo home run to left-center field, his 11th of the season, giving the Biscuits an early 1-0 lead.

Chattanooga answered in the second. Peyton Stovall grounded out to first, allowing Cam Collier to score, before Pablo Aliendo lifted a sacrifice fly to center field that scored Yerlin Confidan and put the Lookouts ahead 2-1.

The Biscuits regained the lead with a four-run fifth inning. Theo Gillen singled home Horvath and Tatem Levins to put Montgomery ahead 3-2, then J.T. Arruda singled home Xavier Isaac. Connor Hujsak followed with an RBI single to score Will Simpson, extending the lead to 5-2.

Montgomery's pitching staff made the three-run advantage stand. Garrett Edwards earned the win after allowing two runs on six hits over 6.0 innings while striking out six. Justin Yeager followed with two scoreless innings and two strikeouts, while Hayden Snelsire worked a perfect ninth with a strikeout to earn his fourth save.

Chattanooga starter Beau Blanchard took the loss after allowing four runs on five hits over 4.0 innings. Jose Montero held the Biscuits to one run over the final 4.0 innings.

Horvath led Montgomery offensively, going 2-for-4 with a double and his 11th home run of the season. Arruda went 2-for-4 with an RBI, while Gillen collected a hit and drove in two runs. Hujsak added an RBI single, and Levins scored a run and collected a hit.
