MONTGOMERY, AL (August 15, 2026) – The Montgomery Biscuits dropped a 5-4 decision to the Chattanooga Lookouts on Saturday night at DABOS Park despite taking an early three-run lead.
Montgomery jumped in front in the bottom of the first when Will Simpson launched a three-run homer to center field, scoring Xavier Isaac and Connor Hujsak to give the Biscuits a 3-0 lead. The home run was Simpson's 23rd of the season.
Chattanooga answered with three runs in the third. Yerlin Confidan singled home Carlos Sanchez and Carter Graham, then scored on error, tying the game at 3-3.
The Lookouts took the lead in the fourth when Johnny Ascanio scored on a wild pitch from Santiago Suarez, putting Chattanooga ahead 4-3.
Cade Hunter added to the lead in the fifth, launching a solo home run to right field to make it 5-3.
Montgomery pulled within one in the eighth. Connor Hujsak doubled to center field, scoring Xavier Isaac, but Hujsak was thrown out at third trying to stretch the hit into a triple, ending the inning.
Chattanooga starter Luke Hayden earned the win after allowing three runs on two hits over 6.0 innings while striking out seven. Floyd worked two innings and allowed one run, while Adcock earned his fourth save with a scoreless ninth.
Suarez took the loss for Montgomery, allowing five runs on nine hits over 6.0 innings while striking out two. Luis Guerrero tossed 2.0 scoreless innings with three strikeouts, and Tommy McCollum worked a scoreless ninth with two strikeouts.
Simpson provided nearly all of Montgomery's offense, going 1-for-1 with his 23rd home run and three RBI. Isaac scored twice and Hujsak went 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI.
