
MONTGOMERY, AL (August 27, 2026) – The Montgomery Biscuits fell to the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, 5-4, in 10 innings on Thursday night at DABOS Park.
The Biscuits struck first in the opening inning when Cooper Kinney singled to center field, scoring Mac Horvath for a 1-0 lead.
Montgomery added to its advantage in the third. Kinney opened the inning with a double before Will Simpson doubled to left field, bringing him home and extending the lead to 2-0.
Pensacola got on the board in the fourth when Fenwick Trimble singled home Brandon Compton. The Blue Wahoos took their first lead in the sixth as Trimble delivered another RBI single, scoring Compton and Dillon Lewis to put Pensacola ahead 3-2.
The Biscuits responded in the bottom half of the inning. Gregory Barrios, Daniel Vellojin, and Ryan Spikes reached to load the bases before Horvath lined a two-run single to center field, scoring Barrios and Vellojin to give Montgomery a 4-3 advantage.
Pensacola tied the game in the eighth on a Juan Matheus bunt single that scored Adrian Santana.
The game remained tied into the 10th inning before Santana doubled to right field, bringing home the automatic runner Jay Beshears to give Pensacola a 5-4 lead.
Montgomery was unable to answer in the bottom of the inning, as Pensacola escaped with the extra-inning victory.
Horvath finished 2-for-5 with two RBI, while Kinney went 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI, and a stolen base. Simpson added a double and an RBI, while Vellojin and Spikes each recorded two hits.
Santiago Suarez turned in a quality start, allowing three runs on six hits over 6.0 innings while striking out five. Andrew Lindsey allowed the tying run in the eighth but struck out five, while Justin Yeager took the loss after allowing an unearned run over 2.1 innings with four strikeouts.
