NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (August 26, 2026). – The Myrtle Beach Pelicans (19-36, 46-73) dropped game two of their six-game set against the Augusta GreenJackets (30-25, 65-56) 6-1 at SRP Park on Wednesday night. With the loss, the Pelicans and GreenJackets are now tied in the weeklong series 1-1.
Myrtle Beach started the scoring in the top of the third. For the second night in a row, Darlyn De Leon (3) launched a solo home run to give the Birds a 1-0 advantage.
Augusta tied the game 1-1 in the bottom of the third on a solo home run from Yamvier Carrero (2).
The GreenJackets put up four runs in the bottom of the fourth. With the bases loaded, Matt Scannell drew a walk to put Augusta in front 2-1. In the next at-bat, a wild pitch scored Klein from third to increase the lead to 3-1. The next batter Carrero grounded out to bring home Jacob Jarrell to make the score 4-1. Then Manuel Campos reached on a fielding error that scored Scannell to move the lead 5-1.
In the bottom of the seventh, Scannell roped an RBI double to give the GreenJackets a 6-1 lead and eventually the win.
RHP Gensi Angeles (1-2, 9.00) received the win for the GreenJackets. LHP Hayden Frank (3-9, 5.15) was tagged with the loss for the Pelicans.
Myrtle Beach will continue their final roadtrip of the season on Thursday, August 27 against the Augusta GreenJackets (Single-A Braves) at SRP Park. First pitch is slated for 7:05 PM. RHP Kevin Camacho (0-1, 19.29) starts on the hill for the Pelicans. LHP Landon Beidelschies (2-9, 6.28) will get the nod for the GreenJackets.
