
NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (August 28, 2026). – The Myrtle Beach Pelicans (19-38, 46-75) dropped game four of their six-game set against the Augusta GreenJackets (32-25, 67-56) 8-0 at SRP Park on Friday night. With the loss, the Pelicans fall behind the GreenJackets in the weeklong series 1-3.
Augusta started the scoring in the bottom of the second. Dallas Macias worked a walk and then moved to third on a single from Matt Scannell. After Scannell stole second, Yamvier Carrero (3) launched a three-run home run to give the GreenJackets a 3-0 advantage.
The GreenJackets added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth. Manuel Campos reached second base on a throwing error. After Caleb Klein was walked, Campos and Klein executed a double steal. The next batter Cooper McMurray hit a two-run single to extend the lead to 5-0.
Augusta tacked on three more runs in the bottom of the sixth. Scannell ripped a single and then moved to second via a wild pitch. After Campos laced a single to load the bases, Klein smacked an RBI single to stretch the lead to 6-0. In the next at-bat, a wild pitch scored Campos to move the lead to 7-0. A batter later, McMurray roped an RBI double which made the score 8-0.
LHP Adiel Melendez (8-1, 2.49) received the win for the GreenJackets. RHP Luis Mata (0-2, 6.75) was tagged with the loss for the Pelicans.
Myrtle Beach will continue their final roadtrip of the season on Saturday, August 29 against the Augusta GreenJackets (Single-A Braves) at SRP Park. First pitch is slated for 6:05 PM. RHP Riely Hunsaker (4-4, 5.28) starts on the hill for the Pelicans. RHP Luis Arestigueta (3-3, 7.18) will get the nod for the GreenJackets.
