NASHVILLE (July 17, 2026) - The Sounds opened a three-game weekend series against the Norfolk Tides with a 4-2 loss on Friday night in front of a sellout crowd at First Horizon Park. Brewers no. 16-rated prospect Tyson Hardin tossed his fifth Triple-A quality start and fellow prospects Luke Adams and Jeferson Quero accounted for both Nashville runs with long balls in the loss.
Adams, Milwaukee's no. 11-rated prospect began the night's scoring with a solo home run in the bottom of the second inning off Norfolk starter Cade Povich. The Tides answered with a run off Hardin in the top of the third. It was the only run Hardin surrendered over his six-quality innings as the right-hander allowed just three hits and struck out two while pitching around a walk and hit batter. He exited the game with a one-run lead thanks to Jeferson Quero's solo home run in the bottom of the fourth. Hardin retired seven straight to end his outing and Reiss Knehr was the first man out of the bullpen.
Knehr walked the first batter he faced and saw that run come around to even the score on a RBI triple for Luis Vazquez. Knehr then balked home Vazquez to give the Tides a one-run advantage heading into the seventh-inning stretch.
Tyler Black legged out an infield single in the bottom of the eighth to extend his hitting streak to eight straight games and pushed his on-base streak to 22 consecutive games. It was Nashville's only hit over the final four innings. Left-hander Mark Manfredi worked a clean inning in the top of the eighth while Blake Holub saw his streak of games without an earned run allowed come to an end after 11 appearances. Holub allowed one run without allowing a hit in the top of the ninth after issuing a pair of walks while also striking out two in his only inning of relief.
The Sounds and Tides continue their series from First Horizon Park on Saturday night with Left-hander Colton Gordon scheduled to make his organizational debut with the Brewers after being acquired by Milwaukee in a trade with Houston earlier this week. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.

NUKE ADAMS: Luke Adams belted his 12th homer of the season with a solo shot to left field in the bottom of the second inning, giving the Sounds the early 1-0 lead in Friday night's game. The 12 homers for Adams are the most on the current active roster this season and a new single-season career-high with a single team for Adams, passing the three other times he finished with 11 homers for Double-A Biloxi (2025), High-A Wisconsin (2024) and Single-A Carolina (2023). It marked his first career hit against the Tides in nine at-bats in his first year of Triple-A ball. This was the first time that Adams went head-to-head with Norfolk's pitcher Cade Povich, and his first at-bat was a solo blast. The Brewers no. 11-rated prospect leads the active roster with six solo home runs, and his 12 home runs are tied for sixth in the farm system.
FEELIN' 22: Tyler Black extended his on-base streak to 22 consecutive games on the season with an infield hit in Friday night's game against the Tides. He has a .297 batting average (22-for-74), nine extra-base hits, 16 RBI and added 22 runs since June 13. The 22 consecutive games are the longest-active on-base streak on the team and is the eighth longest-active on-base streak in the International League. Black currently has the third longest on-base streak for the Sounds this season behind Cooper Pratt (25) and Brock Wilken (30). He is tied for the 11th-best on-base streak for the Sounds since 2021. He is currently riding an eight-game hit streak since game two of the doubleheader vs. Jacksonville on July 4.
HARD WAY: Tyson Hardin tossed his fifth quality start of the season for the Sounds and sixth overall this year on Friday night. He went 6.0 innings, allowed a run on three hits and struck out two, facing 22 total batters. It marked his 12th career quality start in his three-year career. The 12 quality starts are tied for second in the Milwaukee Brewers farm system since 2024. Hardin is tied for fifth in the International League this season in quality starts (5) and tied for ninth at the Triple-A level. It's the first time Hardin has allowed less than two runs in a start of at least 5.0 IP since June 9 vs. Durham.
FAR IT HAS GONE: Jeferson Quero clubbed his 11th homer of the season for the Sounds, giving Nashville the 2-1 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning on Friday night. The homer marked his fifth solo shot, a team-leading nine home runs off left-handed pitchers and the sixth at First Horizon Park. It was his first home run since June 30 vs. Jacksonville, while he extended his hit streak to five consecutive games and an on-base streak to seven consecutive games. Quero is currently hitting a .264 (75-for-284), with 25 extra-base hits this season for the Sounds. The 75 hits are tied for the ninth-most among Brewers' minor league hitters, and he ranks 10th in homers (11) and RBI (49).
