NASHVILLE (September 4*, 2026*) – Nashville erased a four-run deficit for the second straight night to record their second walk-off of the series against the Louisville Bats on Friday night. The win marked the fourth straight one-run win of the week for the Sounds who entered the bottom of the ninth trailing 4-0. Nashville rallied for four hits and five runs after being held scoreless and with two hits through the first eight frames.
Brewers no. 7-rated prospect Tyson Hardin turned in seven dominant innings on the mound for Nashville. The right-hander allowed three hits with one run against and struck out seven Louisville batters. The lone run against Hardin came in the top of the second with Orlando Arcia doubling home Michael Chavis to put the Bats on the board. Hardin stranded a one-out single in the seventh before punctuating his start with his final strikeout of the night en route to his sixth Triple-A quality start.
For the Bats, Carson Spiers was equally as good on the mound. The right-hander worked six scoreless frames with two hits and eight strikeouts. He surrendered his first hit of the night to Blake Burke and a double in the fourth and worked around a leadoff single for Daniel Guilarte with a strike 'em out, throw 'em out double play to end the fifth. He faced the minimum in five of his six innings on the mound. The Bats built a 4-0 lead in the top of the eighth off Lyon Richardson after the former Reds' 47th overall pick allowed three hits and three runs in his lone inning of work.
After Chase Petty worked two hitless innings in relief of Spiers and Brett Wichrowski tossed a three-up, three-down top of the ninth for Nashville, things turned for Nashville in the final half inning.
Tyler Black led off the frame with a single off Anthony Misiewicz and was followed aboard by Ethan Murray with a second straight single. Burke was hit by a pitch to load the bases with no outs in the inning.
Misiewicz got a shallow fly ball to left field, forcing the runners to stay put before Zach Maxwell took over pitching duties for the Bats. Wilken pushed across the first Nashville run with a sacrifice fly to deep right field but left the Sounds down to their final out still chasing three runs. Ramon Rodriguez singled home Murray as the Sounds eclipsed their hit total through the first eight innings and cut the lead in half. Jonathan Ornelas drew a pinch-hit walk to re-load the bases before Jeferson Quero singled home Burke as the Sounds cut the lead to one.
With the tying run on third, Maxwell started his at-bat against Eduardo Garcia with a ball. His second pitch of the at-bat was a wild pitch, allowing Rodriguez to tie the game. The throw to plate by PJ Higgins got passed Maxwell and worked its way towards the middle of the infield. Having already advanced to third, Ornelas took the opportunity to break for the plate and eluded the tag at the home, giving Nashville the 5-4 walk-off win.
With a series win in hand, the Sounds will look to keep the momentum rolling in game five of the set on Saturday night. Left-hander Tate Kuehner (2-2, 5.22 ERA) takes the ball for Nashville with first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m.

WALKED IT OFF AGAIN: The Sounds walked off the Bats for the second time this week and was the seventh overall walk-off win of the season for Nashville. It was the second time this season that the Sounds have walked off twice in the same series with the first one coming on May 15 and 17 against the Iowa Cubs. The seven walk-off wins are tied for the seventh-most in the in a single-season since 2005 and are tied for seventh at the Triple-A level. Friday's 5-4 win was the fourth consecutive one-run victory the Sounds put together, storming back with a five-run ninth and was the third time this season Nashville has been in four or more one-run games in a single series (June 30-July 5 at Jacksonville, August 11-16 vs. Indianapolis). It's the first time the Sounds have won four consecutive one-run games since June 26-28 at Oklahoma City during the 2018 season (5-4, 5-4 (7), 1-0 (7), 10-9). The Sounds have totaled 140 walk-off wins since 2005, which is the sixth-most in Triple-A over the span.
DIFFICULTY - HARD: Tyson Hardin recorded his sixth quality start of the season for the Sounds (7.0 IP, 3 H, ER, 7 K, BB) Friday night. It was Hardin's first quality start since July 17 vs. Norfolk (6.0 IP, 3 H, ER, 2 K, BB). He posted his second quality start of the season when going seven innings or more as the first one came on May 17 against the Iowa Cubs and was the fourth of his career when going 7+ innings. The no.7-rated prospect now has 13 quality starts since the start of his professional career in 2024 and ranks second among minor league pitchers in the Brewers' farm system over the span. His six quality starts are the second-most behind Coleman Crow (7) among Nashville pitchers this year. In the Brewers' farm system, Hardin leads all full-season minor league pitchers in strikeouts (139), ranks third in innings pitched (119.2), fourth in WHIP (1.37) and fifth in AVG (.368) this season.
DON'T MURRAY BE HAPPY: Ethan Murray extended his on-base streak to a career-long 18 consecutive games as he went 1-for-4 on the night and scored one of the five runs in the bottom of the ninth inning. He set his previous career-high of 17 consecutive games with Low-A Carolina during the 2021 season. The 18 games is now the longest-active on-base streak on the team, surpassing Darrien Miller (17) and is tied for the fifth-longest streak on the team this season with Luis Matos and Eddys Leonard. He is hitting a .250 (16-for-64), adding five XBH, 13 RBI and 12 runs since the start of his streak on August 13. His 18-game on-base streak is tied for the 13th-longest active on-base streak in the International League.
