NASHVILLE (September 14, 2026) Minor League Baseball announced today that Sounds pitcher Thomas Pannone has been named International League Pitcher of the Week for September 7-13 after tossing a perfect game (9.0 IP, 8 K, 27 BF) on Monday, September 7 against the Durham Bulls. He was the third Sounds pitcher to toss a perfect game in franchise history (Manny Parra and John Wasdin) and the fifth individual to record a 9-inning perfect game in International League history. He is the first International League pitcher to toss an individual 9-inning perfect game since Justin Germano for Columbus on July 26, 2011, at Syracuse.

In honor of Pannone’s achievement, the Nashville Sounds Foundation will make a $200 donation to a charity of Thomas’ choosing.

Prior to his second start of the week on Sunday against Durham, Pannone had not allowed a run in 13.1 innings pitched, limiting opposing hitters to a .116 BAA (5-for-43) with 13 strikeouts and two walks. He led the International League in innings pitched (13.0), tied for first in the International League in strikeouts (11) and was one of two pitchers to have a complete game during the week.

Pannone is the first Nashville player to win the International League weekly honors this season and is the first one to earn the honors since Tobias Myers won it on July 7 of the 2025 season.

This is the second career International League Pitcher of the Week Award Pannone has won and the third overall since 2013. Pannone’s first International League honors came on June 30, 2019, when he was with Triple-A Buffalo and tossed his first quality start of the year, allowing a run on three hits and striking out a season-high nine batters. The 32-year-old earned his first career Pitcher of the Week honors when he was with the Low-A Lynchburg Hillcats on July 24, 2016. He collected his second win with the Hillcats that year, tossing a one-hit 7-scoreless-inning quality start and striking out three hitters against the Carolina Mudcats.

Pannone, 32, was selected by the Cleveland Guardians in the 9th round (261st overall) in the 2013 MLB Draft out of College of Southern Nevada (Henderson, Nevada). Through 23 games (21 starts), Pannone has posted a 5-4 record with a 4.70 ERA in 99.2 innings of work (98 H/52 ER), adding 85 strikeouts with Nashville this season.

Nashville wraps up the 2026 season at First Horizon Park against the first-half International League Champions, Memphis Redbirds (Triple-A, St. Louis) beginning Tuesday, September 15.
