MANCHESTER, NH – On August 26, the Fisher Cats announced that after New Hampshire’s game on September 10 against the Harrisburg Senators, legendary eating champion Joey Chestnut will go head-to-head with a batch of competitors to a race of eating 50 Puritan Backroom buffalo tenders. Those competitors were decided by a qualifying event hosted by the Puritan Backroom in Manchester on Wednesday, September 2.
Lovers of chicken tenders and hopeful challengers met at the Puritan Backroom Restaurant on Wednesday to decide who will challenge Chestnut live on the field after the Fisher Cats' Thursday night game on September 10.
Six New Hampshire natives qualified at Wednesday’s event:
- David Lewis - Manchester, NH
- Noah Young - Greenfield, NH
- Mikey Whitcomb - Manchester, NH
- Kaci Gilbert - Barnstead, NH
- Tucker Townsend - Pembroke, NH
- Cameron Clayton - Manchester, NH
The qualifiers will now split into a pair of teams to take on Chestnut at Delta Dental Stadium on September 10. A limited amount of Joey Chestnut VIP Ticket Packages is available, while supplies last.
The Fisher Cats will take the field as the Manchester Buffalo Tenders on Thursday, September 10. The first 500 fans to Delta Dental Stadium to Thursday’s game will receive a Manchester Buffalo Tenders bobblehead presented by Delta Dental. Joey Chestnut at Delta Dental Stadium is presented by the Puritan Backroom Restaurant.
