BINGHAMTON, NY – New Hampshire starter Nolan Perry struck out eight batters and held Binghamton hitless in five innings, but the Fisher Cats (23-38, 57-71) fell on Friday at Mirabito Stadium to the Rumble Ponies (32-29, 59-71), 2-0. Perry’s eight strikeouts were a Double-A high as Toronto’s No. 2 prospect (MLB Pipeline) cruised through the Rumble Ponies’ order in his seventh New Hampshire start.
Reliever Aaron Munson inherited a no-hitter into the bottom of the sixth and fired two shutout innings with two strikeouts. Kelena Sauer (L, 1-4) suffered the loss as the right-hander allowed Binghamton’s two winning runs on a double from Mitch Voit.
Binghamton starter Luke Gabrysh struck out five and held the Fisher Cats to two hits in five scoreless innings. Bryce Jenkins struck out three across two innings and Carlos Guzman (W, 6-1) pitched a scoreless eighth. Despite a leadoff double, Garrett Stratton (SV, 7) secured the save.

With the game scoreless in the bottom of the eighth, the Rumble Ponies took the lead on a two-run double by shortstop Mitch Voit. New Hampshire’s Alexis Hernandez laced a leadoff double in the ninth, but the Cats failed to score, and the game ended with the tying run at the plate.

Right-hander Danny Thompson Jr. (1-2, 2.94 ERA) will start for the Fisher Cats, and the Rumble Ponies will counter with R.J. Gordon (4-8, 4.73 ERA).
