MANCHESTER, NH – On Tuesday, August 4, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats announced their final gate giveaway of the season. In line with the final Space Potatoes game of the year, the first 1,000 fans through the gates on Saturday, September 12, will go home with a Trey Yesavage Space Potatoes bobblehead presented by Fidium.
Yesavage’s bobblehead also features a bobbling right arm holding the moon, due to Trey’s renowned release point, and to also compliment the Space Potatoes jerseys and cap. The Space Potatoes, New Hampshire’s alternate identity announced in 2025, will be taking the field for the final time in 2026 on the night of Trey’s bobblehead with a 6:03 first pitch. Gates to Saturday’s game open at 4:30 PM before postgame Atlas fireworks.
Yesavage, who began the 2026 season as MLB Pipeline’s No. 12 prospect in baseball, was originally drafted by Toronto with the 20th overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft out of East Carolina. The Pottstown, Pennsylvania native raced through Toronto’s minor league organization in 2025, beginning with Class-A Dunedin and finishing the season on baseball’s biggest stage with the Blue Jays in the World Series.
In the 2025 Fall Classic, Yesavage became the first rookie in World Series history to record 12 strikeouts in a single game, as well as 12 strikeouts without issuing a walk. Yesavage was the first pitcher, let alone a rookie, to reach 10+ strikeouts in a World Series game since Sandy Koufax in 1963 and joined Bob Gibson as the only pitcher with 12+ strikeouts and one or fewer runs in a World Series start.
All of this succeeded Yesavage’s short-lived but dominant stint in the Blue Jays’ ranks of minor league clubs, a majority that was spent in Double-A New Hampshire. Yesavage started seven of his eight appearances with the Fisher Cats and struck out 46 batters in 30 innings and held Eastern League hitters to a .198 average against. Part of what makes Trey so effective is his notably high release point of the baseball. Along with an arm angle of roughly 63°-65°, a release point that averages about seven feet above the field is one of the highest arm slots in Major League Baseball.
