NORFOLK, Va --- The Norfolk Tides (23-34 | 51-81) defeated the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (25-34 | 67-66), 10-9, in 10 innings on Thursday at Harbor Park. The Tides would take the series lead after winning a shootout in extra innings.
José Barrero led the offense today, going 4-for-5 with a home run and four RBI. It was his 22nd home run of the season, which leads the Tides. One of those hits were an RBI single in the 10th.
The Tides had 15 hits overall in the game, and came back from a three-run deficit to tie the game in the sixth. When the game head to extra innings, Jacksonville jumped ahead with two runs. However, Norfolk would come through on a walk-off, two-run single by Brandon Butterworth to give the Tides the 10-9 win.
