BUFFALO, NY --- The Norfolk Tides (11-26 | 39-73) fell to the Buffalo Bisons (21-18 | 56-58), 9-3, on Sunday at Sahlen Field. The Tides lose their road trip to the Bisons, 2-4.
Michael Forret made his first start for the Tides after being acquired in the trade with Tampa Bay for Tyler Wells. Forret earned no decision, going 4.2 innings and allowed two runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out five.
Creed Willems scored the first run for Norfolk, hitting his 15th home run of the season. He finished 2-for-3 with a walk. Norfolk took their lone lead of the game when Rece Hinds hit a two-run double in the seventh to go up 3-2.
Norfolk would end up losing after Buffalo scored six runs in the seventh and one in the ninth. The Tides will return home Tuesday to host the Gwinnett Stripers, beginning a two-week homestand.
