The Naturals opened up the scoring in the top of the first against Missions starter Ian Koenig. With one out, Colton Becker swatted his fifth home run of the season. The line-drive homer to left gave NWA a 1-0 lead, but the Missions clawed back the run and tied the game in the bottom of the first.

Angel Acosta was hit by a pitch, and Koenig was removed. Reliever Igor Gil took over and threw a wild pitch, plating Johnson to give the Nats a 3-2 advantage.
Natural's starter, Drew Beam (7-10) battled through 11 hits to hold the Missions to just two runs, walking one while striking out four. Brandon Johnson and Dennis Colleran Jr. combined to hold the Missions scoreless over 3.0 combined innings with Colleran earning a save (his fifth of the season) and Johnson picking up a hold.
