Game Summary: The Oklahoma City Comets put together a second straight shutout win, producing a 5-0 victory against the Albuquerque Isotopes Sunday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Oklahoma City (26-18/67-51) struck first in the third inning with a two-run homer from Ryan Ward. The Comets plated another run in the sixth inning as a single from Ryan Fitzgerald brought home Hyeseong Kim. Initially hesitating at third base, Kim later advanced to score after the throw from right field went to second base. Fitzgerald came through again with a RBI single in the seventh inning and the Comets also scored in the eighth inning when Ward grounded into a double play to boost OKC to a 5-0 lead. Albuquerque (22-23/61-59) was held to six hits and finished without an extra-base hit for the third straight game.
Of Note:
-Oklahoma City clinched a third straight series victory with Sunday’s win, taking four of six games against Albuquerque during the week…The Comets are now a season-best 16 games above .500 as they have won 14 of their last 17 games overall and have won 13 of their last 16 games at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark…This is the first time since May the Comets have won at least three consecutive series.
-The Comets recorded their second straight shutout and ninth of the season as they extended their streak of consecutive scoreless innings to 20, starting with the eighth inning Friday night…Oklahoma City has recorded consecutive shutouts for the first time since July 30-Aug. 1, 2018 against El Paso and at Tacoma, while accomplishing the feat at home for the first time in consecutive home games since April 24-25, 2017 against Memphis…The Comets collected three shutouts within the same series for the first time since Aug. 3-5, 2006 against Las Vegas.
-Jackson Ferris (2-5) fired 5.0 scoreless innings with four hits, one walk and a season-high nine strikeouts in the victory…The strikeout total was the most from an Oklahoma City pitcher since Landon Knack fanned 11 batters Aug. 2, 2025 against Salt Lake…Ferris recorded his highest strikeout total since an 11-strikeout performance July 6, 2024 with High-A Great Lakes vs. West Michigan.
-Bobby Miller continued a Major League Rehab Assignment with Oklahoma City and tossed 3.0 scoreless innings with two hits, one walk and three strikeouts. He threw 44 pitches (26 strikes). Over three appearances with Oklahoma City, Miller has thrown 7.0 innings with four runs, seven hits, two walks and seven strikeouts...He is currently on the Dodgers’ 60-day Injured List due to right shoulder soreness.
-Ryan Ward went 1-for-3 with a homer, two RBI and two walks to extend his season-best hitting streak to nine games. He is 15-for-37 with a double, four homers and 12 RBI during the hitting streak…Ward has 26 RBI in his last 17 games.
-James Tibbs III finished 1-for-5 to push his on-base streak to 15 games. During the stretch, Tibbs is 22-for-57 with seven extra-base hits and 16 RBI as he has matched his longest on-base streak of the season (March 27-April 12).
-Zach Ehrhard reached base four times with four walks, scored a run and recorded a stolen base. He has now reached base in 23 of his last 24 games, recording 24 walks and scoring 27 runs.
-Oklahoma City pitchers struck out 13 batters, recording double-digits for the fourth time in the last five games. The Comets have struck out 61 batters during the stretch.
