PENSACOLA, FL – The Pensacola Blue Wahoos announced Tuesday that Blue Wahoos Stadium will host a three-day weekend series of men’s college baseball between the Ohio State Buckeyes and UConn Huskies on February 19-21, 2027.
The series will mark the second straight year that Ohio State has included a weekend slate at Blue Wahoos Stadium in their non-conference schedule after playing the Saint Louis Billikens in February 2026. It will be UConn’s first-ever trip to Pensacola.
“After a great experience with Ohio State earlier this year, both sides were interested in making this a multi-year partnership,” said Blue Wahoos team president Jonathan Griffith. “We look forward to welcoming Buckeye fans back to Pensacola, as well as giving Husky fans their first Blue Wahoos Stadium experience.”
“We are looking forward to our second year opening up in Pensacola,” said Ohio State head baseball coach Justin Haire. “Buckeyes at the Beach is back, and we are excited to continue to build our partnership with the Blue Wahoos and the City of Pensacola. Continuing to build this as our opening weekend home and connecting with Buckeyes all over the Sunshine State will be a blast again this year!”
The series follows past college baseball events held at Blue Wahoos Stadium, including an annual Division III tournament hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. The venue has also hosted a growing slate of fall exhibitions since 2024, most recently highlighted by Alabama vs. Georgia Tech and Florida vs. Troy earlier this month.
Game times, while subject to change, are as follows:
Friday, February 19: 6:05 p.m. CT
Saturday, February 20: 6:05 p.m. CT
Sunday, February 21: 12:35 p.m. CT
The Buckeyes have reached the NCAA tournament 22 times in program history, winning the Men’s College World Series in 1966. The Huskies, representing the Big East Conference, have appeared in five Men’s College World Series and 25 NCAA tournaments.
