PENSACOLA, FL – Minor League Baseball announced Monday the league awards and All-Star teams for the 2026 Southern League season, with Pensacola Blue Wahoos manager Nelson Prada recognized as Southern League Manager of the Year and right-handed pitcher Eliazar Dishmey recognized as both a member of the Southern League All-Star team and the league’s Pitcher of the Year.
In his second year as Blue Wahoos manager, Prada led the club to a Southern League-best 79-58 record that was also the third-best winning percentage in franchise history. The 2026 Blue Wahoos set a Southern League record with 312 stolen bases, and their 184 home runs were tied for the third-most in league history. He becomes the second Blue Wahoos manager to win the award, joining Kevin Randel in 2023, and just the third Marlins Double-A manager to be recognized by his league (Carlos Tosca, Portland Sea Dogs, 1996).

Dishmey, 21, joined the Blue Wahoos on May 26 and made 16 regular season starts, going 4-1 with a 3.30 ERA. He struck out 92 batters over 71.0 innings, held opponents to a .183 average, and twice won Southern League Pitcher of the Week honors with no-hit bids on July 5 and August 6. In five July starts, he was 2-0 with a 0.42 ERA, allowing just one run on 10 hits over 21.1 innings. Currently rated the #30 prospect in the Marlins organization according to MLB Pipeline, Dishmey joins Max Meyer (2021) as the only Blue Wahoos pitcher to earn Southern League Pitcher of the Year honors.
The Blue Wahoos begin their 2027 season on Friday, April 2 on the road against the Biloxi Shuckers. Their 2027 home opener is scheduled for Tuesday, April 6 at Blue Wahoos Stadium against the Birmingham Barons.
