Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. – The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, in conjunction with Minor League Baseball, announced Monday that right-handed pitcher Trey Gregory-Alford has been named California League Pitcher of the Week for the week of August 24-30.
Gregory-Alford’s weekly honor is his first this season, and he joins Talon Haley (June 15-21, July 21-26) and Ubaldo Soto (June 30-July 5) as the only other Quakes pitchers to have earned that distinction in 2026.
On Wednesday, August 26th, Gregory-Alford delivered six scoreless innings in a quality start against the Lake Elsinore Storm at Morongo Field. He permitted just one hit and two walks, striking out four to help power Rancho Cucamonga to a 14-1 victory, his fifth of the year.
Additionally, his performance wraps up an exceptional month of August. Across his four starts, he compiled 20.2 innings in which he allowed only five earned runs, striking out 17 batters as well. Gregory-Alford did not give up more than two earned runs in any start, posting a 2.18 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, and .167 BAA in that span.
The Quakes hit the road for ONT Field on Tuesday, September 1st, at 6:35 PM to begin their final series of the season versus the Ontario Tower Buzzers.
