RENO, Nev. – Sunday brought to an end the home portion of the 2026 schedule for the Reno Aces, but it could not end on a high note as the Albuquerque Isotopes handed Reno a 10-5 defeat in the series and home finale.
It was a battle all day for the Aces (31-37/63-80), who watched the Isotopes (32-37/71-73) plate at least one run in each of their first six sets of swings in the game. Trailing 4-0 after the top of the third, Reno finally responded and pulled within one thanks to three runs of their own.
Digging in with two aboard and only one out, Trent Youngblood and Demetrio Crisantes ripped a pair of consecutive doubles that were responsible for all three runs in the frame. Youngblood, playing in just his second Triple-A contest, was first to do so with a ball into left that earned an RBI while the other run crossed courtesy of an error. Next up was Crisantes, who quickly traded places with Youngblood.
As Albuquerque continued to score by adding two more in the fourth plus one more in each the fifth and sixth, Reno tried to fish by managing a run each in their half of the fifth and sixth innings. Unfortunately for Reno, there were two final insurance tallies added for Albuquerque in the top of the ninth.
Earning an RBI after playing the hero in Reno’s 6-5 win on Friday was Aramis Garcia, who delivered in the clutch with a two-out single to left. Meanwhile, Gavin Conticello started the sixth in a big way by launching his eighth homer of the Triple-A campaign.
Ashton Izzi (1-4) drew the final home start but allowed four runs on seven hits with two strikeouts and one walk in just three innings, ultimately taking the loss.
Both Conticello and Garcia closed the game at 2-for-4 with an RBI, though the former left the yard to earn his. Meanwhile, both Youngblood and Crisantes had identical stat lines by going 1-for-4 with a run scored, double and RBI.
Just six games remain in the 2026 campaign for Reno, as the season wraps up next week in Sacramento with six games against the River Cats.
