SUGAR LAND, Tex. – The Reno Aces lost Sunday’s series finale in Sugar Land, 3-1, forcing a series split with the Space Cowboys. All three runs allowed by Reno pitching came on solo home runs.
After back-to-back days of Reno (29-33, 61-76) scoring in the top of the first, it was Sugar Land (39-24, 71-66) plate a run first with a leadoff blast from Zach Cole.
The score would remain 1-0 until the top of the sixth inning when a Kristian Robinson walk sparked some two-out life for the BLC-Nine. Two batters later, Tyler Locklear lined one into left to plate Robinson and tie the ballgame at one run apiece.
However, a Pascanel Ferreras home run would immediately put the Space Cowboys back in front in the bottom half of the sixth and a Collin Price homer added some insurance in the eighth.
Ashton Izzi allowed just one run in 3.2 innings with six strikeouts starting for the BLC-Nine and was followed by 1.1 scoreless innings from Landon Sims. Dylan Ray and Drey Jameson completed the final three innings on the mound, each allowing a solo homer.
Locklear’s RBI single was the only run-scoring hit for Reno with Pavin Smith and Demetrio Crisantes each adding hits of their own on Sunday – none of which went for extra bases.
The Aces will return home next week to host the Albuquerque Isotopes, Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, for their final homestand of the 2026 season.
