RICHMOND, Va. – The Richmond Flying Squirrels will host Funky Fireworks Night featuring the Batter Up Brass Band, presented by CarMax, on Saturday night. Saturday’s game against the Reading Fightin Phils starts at 7:05 p.m. and gates open at 5:30 p.m.
Richmond’s Batter Up Brass Band, which started as a small group of friends who met at Viginia Tech, has performed at Flying Squirrels games and events for over three years. Now a full ensemble of talented musicians, the Batter Up Brass Band will take main stage for Funky Fireworks Night at CarMax Park
The first 4,000 fans through the gates on Saturday will receive a pair of special diffraction glasses to make the postgame Funky Fireworks show, presented by Chick-fil-A, extra entertaining. Fans will also enjoy pregame entertainment from DJ Carter Baldwin.
Richmond will take on the Reading Fightin Phils on Saturday. Reading, playing at CarMax Park for the first time, is in first place in the Eastern League’s Northeast division second-half standings.
