RICHMOND, Va. — With just three weeks until WinterWorld opens to the public on Nov. 19, crews are hard at work transforming CarMax Park into an immersive holiday destination filled with over a million lights, larger-than-life attractions and festive experiences for the whole family. Created by 804Live and sponsored by SERVPRO, WinterWorld will open on Nov. 19 and run through Jan. 3.

From visits with Santa to story time with Mrs. Claus, the creative team behind WinterWorld ensures that guests will experience the holiday season in every corner of CarMax Park. The transformation includes more than a million holiday lights and a team of more than 100 seasonal employees working to deliver an unparalleled holiday experience in Richmond.

Guests can explore a stadium-wide holiday lighting display, a 12,500-square-foot outdoor ice-skating rink, a six-lane ice slide, a 60-foot Ferris wheel, a holiday retail village, seasonal food and beverages, a lounge for guests 21 and older and the tallest Christmas tree in the region.

“After months of planning, it’s exciting to see WinterWorld begin to take shape,” said Chris Yancey, president of 804Live. “We’re grateful to our partners, our team and the community members helping bring this vision to life, and we can’t wait to welcome guests on November 19.”

Regional Partners Help Bring Signature Attractions to Life
WinterWorld’s transformation is made possible with support from regional businesses and organizations sponsoring key attractions throughout the experience. Alongside a partnership with SERVPRO, WinterWorld is proud to recognize the community partners whose support and sponsorship will help create this unforgettable holiday experience. Featured attractions include the Christmas Tree, presented by Bon Secours Mercy Health; the Ice Slide, presented by Local 10 Steamfitters, Plumbers, and HVAC; the Ferris Wheel, presented by The Virginia Lottery; and Santa's Workshop, presented by Woodfin - Your Home Team. WinterWorld would also like to recognize Smallwood Renovations for serving as a valued promotional partner who has helped bring this event to life.

“WinterWorld is a great opportunity to bring people together and create new holiday traditions,” said Andrew Bahen Jr., chief strategy officer of SERVPRO. “We’re proud to support an experience that will bring so much energy to CarMax Park during the holiday season, and we’re excited to see the community come together to celebrate its inaugural year.”

An Experience for Everyone
WinterWorld is also advancing its commitment to making the holiday experience accessible to everyone throughout the region. Through partnerships with local nonprofit organizations, organizers are distributing 5,000 complimentary tickets for the inaugural season, with 2,000 tickets distributed to date. Participating organizations include Special Olympics, Virginia Pride, Peter Paul Development Center, Autism Society of Central Virginia, Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Richmond Animal League and more.

Tickets start at $14.95 for adults and $9.95 for children ages 4-12, with prices varying by date and demand. Children ages 3 and younger are admitted free.
