Hockey Night at ESL Ballpark on Friday, August 28 will bring the intensity and grace of the world’s fastest game to the baseball field. The Red Wings will host the Buffalo Bisons (Toronto Blue Jays’ top affiliate) at 6:45 PM, with gates opening at 530 PM. The gates will open at 5:30 PM regardless of the weather for the autograph appearance and giveaway.
Hockey Night will feature:
* An appearance by Hall of Fame goalie Gerry Cheevers, presented by Tim Hortons Rochester. Cheevers will meet fans and participate in a Pre-Game Live interview about his career. Known for his distinctive white goalie mask adorned with “stitch marks” showing where the mask saved him from a doctor’s hand, Cheevers is a member of the Rochester Americans Hall of Fame, Boston Bruins Hall of Fame, and All-Centennial Team, and Hockey Hall of Fame. $20 for the first autographed item (includes our poster or your item), $20 for each additional signed item.
* Free Red Wings logo pucks for the first 1,000 fans, presented by Tim Hortons Iceplex.
* Free Tim Hortons Rochester coffee and donut vouchers for the first 1,000 fans.
* Post-game fireworks set to hockey songs, presented by Krossber Brothers Pool and Spa.
* The Red Wings will wear red Amerks-themed jerseys, to be auctioned off to benefit the Red Wings Community Foundation.
* Local hockey greats will be introduced on the field and “shoot” a “first puck.”
* The RIT Hockey Pep Band will perform the National Anthem.
* The RIT Hockey Shoot and Score inflatable game will be next to the firehouse building.
