The Rochester Red Wings (40-28, 85-56) turned a six-run deficit into a victory Saturday night, rallying for six runs in the sixth before DH Riley Adams' two-out RBI single in the seventh delivered a 7-6 win over the Scranton/WB RailRiders (38-28, 75-65) at ESL Ballpark. CF Sam Petersen punctuated the game-tying rally with a two-run single, and Rochester held Scranton/WB scoreless after taking the lead. The Red Wings are now back into first place in the International League second half race, a game ahead of the RailRiders.

After a scoreless first, 2B Marco Luciano connected on a 2-2 slider and crushed it over the visitors bullpen in left for a solo home run. Scranton/WB took a 1-0 lead into the bottom of the second.
Leading off the third, SS Max Schuemann sent a solo home run to left. Marco Luciano worked a walk two batters later. RF Yanquiel Fernández followed with a two-run homer to right-center, extending the RailRiders' lead to 4-0.
The RailRiders threatened again in the sixth after Marco Luciano drew a leadoff walk and advanced to third. 1B Tyler Hardman then roped a double that brought him home. A wild pitch moved Hardman to third, and CF Duke Ellis followed with an infield single that extended Scranton/WB's lead to 6-0.
SS Seaver King sparked Rochester's comeback with an infield single before 1B Buddy Kennedy was hit by a pitch and LF Trey Lipscomb singled to load the bases. 3B Cayden Wallace and Riley Adams followed with consecutive RBI singles, and a wild pitch brought Lipscomb home. After RF Leandro Pineda walked to reload the bases, 2B Liover Peguero added an RBI single and Sam Petersen capped the six-run inning with a two-run single, pulling Rochester even at 6-6.
An inning later, Buddy Kennedy singled to center and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Riley Adams later lined a two-out RBI single to center, scoring Kennedy and giving Rochester a 7-6 lead.
Rochester carried the lead into the top of the ninth. C Maxwell Romero Jr. preserved the win from behind the plate with a massive caught stealing for the first out, and the Red Wings earned the one-run victory with the tying run on second base
RHP Chandler Champlain made the start for Rochester and allowed four earned runs on six hits over 4.0 innings, striking out three and walking two. RHP Andry Lara followed with 1.2 hitless innings, surrendering one earned run with a walk and a strikeout. RHP Ben Grable recorded the final out of the sixth, allowing one earned run on two hits with a strikeout. RHP Max Kranick and RHP Kyle Nicolas then combined for 2.0 scoreless, hitless innings, striking out two and retiring six of the seven batters they faced. Kranick earned the win and Nicolas picked up his fifth hold. RHP Gus Varland worked around a hit and a walk in the ninth to secure his eighth save with the Red Wings.
DH Riley Adams went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored, delivering RBI singles in each of Rochester's scoring innings. His two-out knock in the seventh plated Buddy Kennedy and gave the Red Wings the lead for good.
Rochester and Scranton/WB wrap up their six-game series Sunday afternoon with the final game at ESL Ballpark in 2026. RHP Zak Kent will take the ball for the Red Wings, and RHP Alexander Cornielle is scheduled to take the mound for the RailRiders. First pitch of the home finale is set for 1:05 p.m.
