MADISON, AL – Thursday night’s game between the Rocket City Trash Pandas and Chattanooga Lookouts at Toyota Field was suspended in the top of the fourth inning due to severe weather, with the game tied 2-2. After a 1-hour, 25-minute delay and a torrential downpour that covered the field, the game was officially halted and will resume Friday at 4:35 p.m. from the exact point of suspension. Once the suspended game reaches nine innings, Friday’s originally scheduled contest will begin no earlier than 6:35 p.m. and will be shortened to seven innings.

Before the rain arrived, the Trash Pandas continued their recent trend of fast starts by scoring first for the seventh consecutive game. Raudi Rodriguez opened the bottom of the first inning with a double down the right field line, extending his strong stretch to hits in 20 of his last 22 games while reaching base safely in 31 of his last 32 contests. Gustavo Campero followed with an RBI double to give Rocket City a 1-0 lead. In the second inning, consecutive singles from Cole Fontenelle and Nick Rodriguez set up Harold Coll’s sacrifice fly to left field, pushing the advantage to 2-0. The Trash Pandas threatened to add more, but stranded two runners in both the first and second innings. Chattanooga answered in the third when Dominic Pitelli doubled before Jay Allen II launched a two-run homer to center field to even the game at 2-2. Play continued into the fourth inning before approaching storms forced the grounds crew to tarp the field and eventually suspend play.

Friday’s resumed doubleheader will still feature all scheduled promotions, including Friday Night Fireworks presented by Pyro Shows, Halloween Night with Arx Mortis, Scout Night, and the Thompson Tractor Community Hero recognition.

Gates will open at 3:30 p.m. Fans with tickets from Thursday’s suspended game may exchange them in person at the Wicks Family Foundation Box Office for any remaining 2026 Trash Pandas home game, excluding July 4, but tickets from Thursday’s game do not automatically roll over to Friday’s doubleheader. Both games can be seen on WAAY-TV MORE 31.6, Bally Sports Live, and MiLB.tv, and heard locally on ESPN 97.7 The Zone and Talk Radio WZZN 97.7 FM HD-2.
