Community invited to hear from Artemis II crew about historic journey around the Moon; limited number of free tickets available now

4:10 PM UTC

MADISON, AL – Toyota Field, in conjunction with Artemis II industry partners, will host a special Artemis II crew presentation on Monday, August 31, giving the Rocket City community an opportunity to celebrate the historic mission that sent humans around the Moon for the first time in more than 50 years.

The event will take place from 6:30-7:30 pm at Toyota Field, with gates opening at 5 pm. A limited number of free tickets are now available exclusively online. Tickets are required for admission and will not be available for walk-up admission on Monday.

Tickets are available by CLICKING HERE.

The evening will celebrate NASA's Artemis II mission and the people and communities who helped make it possible. Members of the Artemis II crew are expected to share their experiences from the mission, including highlights from their journey around the Moon and a firsthand look at what it was like to live and work aboard NASA’s Orion spacecraft

Artemis II launched from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida on April 1 and returned to Earth on April 10 following a historic journey around the Moon. NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover and Christina Koch, along with Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen, became the first humans to travel around the Moon since the Apollo era.

The Toyota Field presentation follows similar Artemis II crew events held around the country following the mission. Earlier this month, thousands gathered at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado as the astronauts shared mission highlights, views of the Moon, behind-the-scenes footage, and stories from their nearly 10-day journey.

Parking at Toyota Field will be free for Monday's event. Guests should enter through the Pepsi Gates beginning at 5 pm.

Select Toyota Field concessions will also be available throughout the event. Dumpster Dive and Gravity Grill will be open with limited menus.

Toyota Field is proud to join NASA and Industry partners in welcoming the Artemis II crew to the Rocket City and providing the North Alabama community an opportunity to hear directly from the astronauts who completed this historic mission.
