September 2nd, 2026

MADISON, AL – With the Rocket City Trash Pandas in the heart of the Southern League playoff race, tickets for all potential 2026 home playoff games at Toyota Field, presented by Parsons, are on sale now.

Should the Trash Pandas advance to the postseason, Rocket City will face first-half North Division champion Knoxville in the best-of-three Southern League North Division Series. Game 1 would be played at Toyota Field on Tuesday, September 15 at 6:35 pm, before the series shifts to Knoxville for Games 2 and 3, if necessary. If the Trash Pandas advance, the winner of the North Division Series will meet the South Division Series winner in the best-of-three Southern League Championship Series. The South Division representative would host Game 1, with the series shifting to Toyota Field for Game 2 and Game 3, if necessary.

In total, Rocket City could host a maximum of three games during the 2026 Southern League playoffs:

North Division Series Game 1: Tuesday, September 15 at 6:35 pm vs. Knoxville

Southern League Championship Series Game 2: Date and time TBD, if Rocket City advances

Southern League Championship Series Game 3: Date and time TBD, if necessary

Tickets for potential playoff games can also be purchased at the Wicks Family Foundation Box Office at Toyota Field or by calling (256) 325-1403.

The Trash Pandas seek their second playoff appearance in franchise history. In 2022, Rocket City won both halves of the North Division and finished a franchise-best 81-57 before falling to the Smokies in three games in the North Division Series. The Trash Pandas can qualify by winning the second half or, if first-half champion Knoxville repeats, finishing with the North’s next-best second-half record.

In 2026, the Southern League postseason features four teams in each league competing in best-of-three Division Series, followed by a best-of-three Championship Series. In the Southern League, the first- and second-half qualifiers from the North meet in one Division Series, while the South’s two qualifiers meet in the other. The North and South Division Series winners then advance to play for the Southern League championship.

Rocket City enters Wednesday with a magic number of nine to secure a postseason berth. The Trash Pandas hold a half-game lead in the Southern League North Division second-half standings while sitting two games ahead of the Birmingham Barons for the North’s second playoff spot. Rocket City also owns the second-half head-to-head tiebreaker over Birmingham.

Rocket City continues its final homestand on Wednesday night at Toyota Field against the Montgomery Biscuits with first pitch set for 6:35 pm.
