August 19th, 2026

MADISON, AL –The Rocket City Trash Pandas will celebrate the legacy of beloved Huntsville musician Microwave Dave during Huntsville Stars Night on Friday, August 21 at Toyota Field, combining a tribute to one of the area's most recognizable musicians with a celebration of Huntsville's baseball history.

A longtime Huntsville Stars fan, Dave will be remembered throughout an evening featuring a special-edition Microwave Dave Huntsville Stars T-shirt, a ceremonial first pitch from James Irvin of Microwave Dave and the Nukes, and recognition of the newest recipient of the Danny Hall Memorial Music Scholarship.

The tribute will be part of the Trash Pandas' annual Huntsville Stars Night, which celebrates the former Southern League franchise and its place in North Alabama baseball history.

Fans attending Friday's game can purchase a special ticket offer and add an exclusive Microwave Dave Huntsville Stars T-shirt for $20, while supplies last, with all proceeds from T-shirt sales benefiting the Microwave Dave Music Education Foundation. Fans can select their game seats and T-shirt size when completing their purchase, with shirts available for pickup at Toyota Field on the night of the game..

Before the game, Irvin will take the field to deliver the ceremonial first pitch as part of the tribute to his longtime bandmate. The Trash Pandas will also recognize the newest Danny Hall Memorial Music Scholarship recipient during pregame festivities.

The evening will also help shine a light on the work of the Microwave Dave Music Education Foundation (MDMEF), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization devoted to integrating music with learning by bringing musicians into the classroom.

The tribute provides a fitting intersection of two important parts of Dave's life in Huntsville — music and baseball. As a devoted Huntsville Stars fan, Huntsville Stars Night offers an opportunity to celebrate his legacy alongside the community and a team he enjoyed supporting.

Friday's game against the Biloxi Shuckers begins at 6:35 pm at Toyota Field. The Trash Pandas will wear specialty Huntsville Stars jerseys as part of the evening, which will also include a Huntsville Stars hat raffle and postgame Friday Night Fireworks.

The Trash Pandas continue their penultimate homestand of the regular season tonight at Toyota Field. The week features Wine Wednesday, and Thursday's Nelson Rada Gold Glove Bobblehead Giveaway for the first 1,000 adults, along with Throwback Thursday and live music.
