HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Comets took a 1-0 lead in the second after LF James Tibbs III delivered an RBI double. CF Alek Thomas went after the first pitch he saw in the third inning and hit a home run to center field to give Oklahoma City a two-run edge.
Round Rock got on the board in the bottom half of the third. A single from 2B Theo Hardy and a double from CF Orlando Martinez put runners on second and third with one out. 1B Jonah Bride grounded out to third, which scored Hardy on the play. The E-Train trailed 2-1 after three.
The Express scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth. Round Rock put runners on the corners following a double from RF Aaron Zavala and a throwing error from SS Hyeseong Kim, which allowed DH Diego Castillo to reach. Zavala scored on 3B Frainyer Chavez’s sacrifice fly. Castillo advanced to second on the play following a throwing error from RF Zach Ehrhard. The E-Train tallied their final run of the night on another throwing error from Kim, allowing Castillo to score and give Round Rock a 3-2 lead.
In the seventh, Thomas launched a 434-foot homer to right-field, leveling the score at three apiece.
Neither team could score a run in the eighth or ninth innings and the game went into extra innings.
In the 11th, the Comets struck for four runs in the frame, highlighted by an RBI triple from Ehrhard and a sacrifice fly by 1B Ryan Ward. Oklahoma City held a 7-3 lead entering the bottom half of the inning. The Express went down in order in the 11th as they fell 7-3 in extra innings.

RHP CARTER BAUMLER: made his second appearance after being sent to Round Rock on a Major League rehab assignment on 8/30…retired the side in order in the 5th…threw 1st-pitch strikes to all 3 batters and struck out 2.
RHP JANSER LARA: tossed 1.2 innings in his Triple-A debut tonight… was called up from Double-A Frisco on 9/1 after owning a 6-2 record and a 5.04 ERA (28 ER/50.0 IP) through 40 G with the RoughRiders… recorded all three outs in the 6th with strikeouts… 4 SO on the outing matches a season-high he accomplished two other times this season with Frisco (7/12 and 4/28).
NOTES: OF Aaron Zavala recorded his 29th double of the season in the 4th… is 1 double shy of becoming the 23rd player in Round Rock’s Triple-A era (since 2005) to record 30+ doubles in a single season… Round Rock pitchers struck out LF James Tibbs III 5 times on Wednesday night, the most strikeouts against a single batter this season…the last time the Express struck out a batter 5 times in a game was on 7/2/25 against SUG (INF Brice Matthews).
