HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Express struck first after SS Keyber Rodriguez doubled and came around to score on an RBI single from 2B Diego Castillo in the top of the second.
LHP Anthony Veneziano tossed 5.0 scoreless frames in his 2nd start for Round Rock. He allowed just two baserunners through the first four innings and escaped a bases-loaded jam in the fifth.
In the top of the seventh with two men on, LF Cam Cauley belted a three-run homer to extend the Round Rock lead to four.
The E-Train doubled their output in the eighth with RBI singles from Castillo, C Cooper Johnson and a two-run single by 1B Jonah Bride.
Round Rock relievers RHP Winston Santos, RHP Luis Curvelo and RHP Ryan Lobus completed the shutout combining for 4.0 scoreless innings as the Express took the series finale by a score of 8-0.

LHP ANTHONY VENEZIANO: (W, 5.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 2 SO, 2 BB, 75 pitches, 49 strikes) dealt 5.0 SHO innings in his 2nd start with Round Rock this season…3 of his 6 outings with the Express have been scoreless… tossed a season-high 75 pitches… allowed multiple walks for the 1st time as a member of the E-Train… has tossed a combined 8.0 SHO innings against ELP this week (8/18 and today)… stranded the bases loaded in the 5th to end the outing.
INF DIEGO CASTILLO: drove in his 50th run in his 85th G as a member of the Express this season with an RBI single in the 2nd… is just the 5th Round Rock player this season to record 50+ RBIs this season… of the 5 players, Castillo’s .309 batting average is the highest of the group… Castillo has also accomplished this feat in just 324 AB, the 2nd lowest tally of the group… the infielder last recorded 50+ RBI in 110 G during the 2024 campaign with Triple-A St. Paul (Minnesota Twins affiliate)… tallied a hit in all 5 G he played in this series, hitting .421 (8-for-19) with 3 RBI and 2 BB this week.
INF/OF CAM CAULEY: belted his 4th home run of the series since rejoining the Express on 8/16… also marks his 12th home run of the season… 6 of his 12 homers this year have come against ELP with 5 of them coming at Southwest University Park… Cam has homered at Southwest University Park more than any other PCL venue this season… the 5 long balls is also the highest tally by any Round Rock batter at an opposing team’s ballpark this year… ties INF Abimelec Ortiz’s 5 home runs last season at Isotopes Park (ABQ)… the utility man slashed .407/.469/.963 with 4 HR, 10 RBI, 11 R and 4 SB this series.
