
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Express opened the scoring with two runs in the bottom of the first. With runners on first and second, DH Logan O’Hoppe sent a double into right-center for a 2-0 Round Rock advantage.
LF Alejandro Osuna belted a three-run home run in the second. Osuna’s 411-foot homer made it a 5-0 Express lead.
After a walk and a base hit in the third, Round Rock CF Orlando Martinez drove two in with his single to right.
In the top of the fourth, each of Sugar Land’s first five batters scored a run. 1B Trenton Brooks tallied a two-run single, and 2B Cavan Biggio cleared the bags with a triple off the wall. The Space Cowboys trailed by two after three and a half innings.
C Danny Jansen’s RBI single in the sixth inning put Round Rock ahead by three, bringing the score to 8-5.
The Express plated four insurance runs in the seventh with a sacrifice fly from SS Keyber Rodriguez, a two-run homer off the bat of CF Orlando Martinez and an RBI double from 2B John Taylor. Round Rock held a 12-5 lead that would stand final.

OF ALEJANDRO OSUNA: launched his 2nd home run with the Express and his 3rd of the season (1 w/ TEX on 7/7 vs LAA)… ends his 22 G home run drought… his 411-foot shot is his longest of the season… 5th longest hit by an Express player at Dell Diamond this season… all 3 round-trippers this season have been recorded over 100.0 mph… is slashing .280/.381/.390 with 16 RBI and 17 BB in 27 G with the Express this year.
RHP MARC CHURCH: (W, 2.0 IP, 2 H, R-ER, BB, 6 SO, 40 pitches, 26 strikes) tossed 2.0 innings as the 1st man out of the bullpen for Round Rock on Sunday afternoon…recorded all 6 outs via strikeout…6 punchouts tie Church’s professional career-high from 6/16/2022 with High-A Hickory…generated 11 whiffs on 18 swings…10 of 11 whiffs and all 6 strikeouts came via the slider…has issued 2 walks in his last 5 and 3 walks in his last 12 outings…posted a 6.66 strikeout to walk ratio (20 SO/3 BB) in that span.
C DANNY JANSEN: finished Sunday going 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI… the 31-year-old catcher joined Round Rock on a rehab assignment on 8/11… Jansen has at least 1 H in 4 of the 5 G he has played in the series… recorded his 1st RBI with a single in the 6th… he has also struck out just 2 times over his 15 at-bats.
TWO-OUT HITTING: Round Rock scored 9 of their 12 runs with 2 outs on Sunday…the Express entered today’s game with the lowest slash line of August among PCL clubs when hitting with two outs (.184/.290/.340)…the E-Train are hitting .234/.341/.362 with two outs at Dell Diamond this season… since the start of the second half on 6/23, Round Rock owns the 2nd lowest number of hits (110) when faced with two outs… however, they own the 2nd most home runs in the scenario (19).
OF ORLANDO MARTINEZ: reached base in four of his five plate appearances… collected his first multi-RBI game with the Express… Martinez launched his 1st home run as a member of the E-Train… had 3 HR with Double-A Frisco this year… is slashing .273/.368/.394 with 5 RBI, 5 BB and 7 SO in 10 G this month.
NOTES: Round Rock pushed across 7 R across the first 3 frames on Sunday afternoon… marks the 5th time this season the Express have done so and 2nd time against SUG (Also, 4/23 at SUG)… 4 of the 5 times this season have been in the state of Texas (Also-2 ELP on 4/16 and 5/20).. E-Train are 5-0 in those contests.
