SALEM, VA — The Salem RidgeYaks are proud to announce that longtime General Manager Allen Lawrence has been named the recipient of the Diamond Award by Diamond Baseball Holdings, recognizing his outstanding leadership, dedication and lasting impact on Minor League Baseball.
Lawrence was honored during DBH's third annual Awards Ceremony in Louisville, Kentucky, celebrating individuals across the organization who have gone above and beyond in their work. The ceremony featured over 80 nominations recognizing excellence in leadership, innovation, community involvement and the fan experience.
For 25 years, Lawrence has been a cornerstone of professional baseball in Salem, helping guide the organization through decades of growth and change. Most recently, he played an instrumental role in the club's transformation to the Salem RidgeYaks, finding creative ways to grow the organization while maintaining the personal connections that have defined his leadership.
"This is an incredible honor, and I'm truly grateful to Diamond Baseball Holdings for this recognition," said Lawrence. "But this award is really a reflection of the amazing people I've had the privilege of working alongside throughout the years. We have an incredible staff that puts their hearts into what they do every day, and we're fortunate to have the best fans in Minor League Baseball. Salem is a special place, and I'm proud to be part of it."
The recognition adds to an already memorable year for Lawrence, who was inducted into the Roanoke-Salem Baseball Hall of Fame in early 2026.
Known for his approachable leadership, commitment to his staff and genuine relationships with fans, Lawrence continues to make a lasting impact both inside and outside the ballpark.
The Salem RidgeYaks congratulate Allen on this well-deserved honor and thank him for his continued dedication to the organization and the greater Salem community.
