SOUTH JORDAN, UT. - Shortstop Kyren Paris collected the Golden Snitch on Harry Potter Night, logging five RBI in his first minor league multi-homer performance to pace Salt Lake to 14-13 Saturday night shootout win over Oklahoma City. Kaleb Ort recorded a five-out save to put the finishing touches on a victory that snapped a franchise-long 11-game losing streak.

Game Summary
Oklahoma City opened up Saturday’s Harry Potter Night, scoring first for the fifth straight contest. Three hits and two walks aided the visitors to an early 3-0 advantage off starter Ryan Costeiu. The righty, making his Triple-A debut, captured his first strikeout at the level to avoid more damage in the first inning.
His offense picked him up in the home half, scratching a pair to cut the score to 3-2. Niko Kavadas tallied an RBI double off Comets starter Emmet Sheehan, who exited immediately after the extra-base hit. One inning later, Salt Lake posted a crooked number, tagging the Oklahoma City bullpen for three runs. Ben Gobbel evened the game at 3-3 with his run-scoring knock, before Gustavo Campero continued his scorching stretch with a two-run double that put the Bees in front 5-3 after two full innings.
The Comets responded with a five-spot in the top of the third, sending all nine hitters to the plate. Three free passes (two walks, one HBP), along with three hits led to the big inning that flipped the margin to 8-5. Teams traded runs in the fourth, each bringing across one run. The Comets used Alek Thomas’ third RBI to make it 9-5, before the Bees countered with a run-scoring double play to get it to 9-6.
Salt Lake cut into the deficit in the fifth on Kyren Paris’ 10th homer of the season, a two-run blast that just cleared the left center wall for a 9-8 score.
Three straight hits started the sixth inning for Oklahoma City, leading to two runs and an 11-8 lead. Salt Lake loaded the bases in the bottom half with two outs, searching for a momentum shift. In a 2-2 count, Pablo Reyes blooped a two-run single into center field to slim the gap to 11-10. Then, on the very next pitch, Paris unloaded his second homer of the night, a mammoth three-run shot that made it 13-11 Bees.
After a 1-2-3 seventh, Salt Lake added to their new lead thanks to a Christian Moore RBI single moving the score to 14-11. The visitors fought back in the eighth, scoring twice courtesy of three walks and two singles to get the score to 14-13 with one out. Kaleb Ort was called upon to get the Bees out of trouble. The big right hander left the bags full of Comets, ending the eighth.
Following a quiet bottom half, Ort came out for the ninth hoping to get Salt Lake over the finish line. The closer got a strikeout to start the frame, before giving up a single. A very close play at second base secured the second out, putting the Bees on the verge of victory. Ort induced a groundball that he fielded cleanly and tossed over to first, ending the losing streak and sent 7,558 fans home happy on Saturday night.

- Salt Lake earned its first win since July 25 vs. Omaha (8-4). The Bees snapped an 11-game losing streak which tied for a franchise record that was previously set May 4-16, 2014 and August 23 - September 3, 2021.
- The Bees scored 14 runs on 13 hits on Saturday, collecting its most run in a game since June 4 vs. Albuquerque (15) and its most hits since July 23 vs. Omaha (14).
- Salt Lake went 7-for-14 with runners in scoring position snapping a streak of 11 games with three or fewer in scoring situations. The seven hits with runners in scoring position tonight were the most the team has had since June 4 vs. Albuquerque when they also went 7-for-14 in a 15-3 win over the Isotopes.
- Saturday’s game had a rare occurrence in the sixth inning where Salt Lake went down on strikes four times in the inning and scored five runs after their third strikeout. The rare four strikeout inning has happened just once in Triple-A this season prior to tonight’s game coming in Toledo where Omaha pitcher Ryan Ramsey collected four strikeouts in the third inning on April 23. It is the third time it happened to Salt Lake since 2005, coming on April 11, 2016 against Fresno and September 5, 2023 against Tacoma.
- Salt Lake pitching struck out two batters on Saturday marking the third time this season the Bees have had two or fewer strikeouts in a game (7/12 at SAC; 2 K, 7/2 vs. Las Vegas; 1 K). Since 2021, Salt Lake pitching has tossed two or fewer strikeouts in a single game nine times, three have this season while the Bees have won three of those nine games, two of the wins coming this season.
- The Bees were victorious in a one-run margin for the first time since winning 9-8 over Reno on July 17. Between that game and tonight, Salt Lake had lost five straight one-run decisions, including three consecutive walk-offs in Sugar Land.
- Kyren Paris extended his on-base streak in a huge way, launching two longballs tonight in his first minor league multi-homer performance and second in his career. He now has reached safely in 26 straight games, tying Ben Gobbel (June 10 - July 11) for longest by a Bee this season. Paris has 11 homers, one shy of tying Denzer Guzman for most by a Salt Lake hitter this season; all 11 have come since June 24 (last 34 games).
- Christian Moore walked in his seventh straight game, one shy of his season high (April 8-17). He added a second free pass, marking his 12th game with multiple walks in 2026. Moore scored in his second straight game, while his RBI single in the seventh proved to be the game-winning hit for Salt Lake.
- Niko Kavadas collected his 15th double of the season, opening the scoring with an RBI two-bagger. The infielder has hits in seven straight games and has reached safely in 10 straight games. Since his hitting streak began on August 1, Kavadas is batting .423 (11-for-26) in the month with a home run, two doubles and a triple, including eight RBI and an 1.195 OPS.
- Pablo Reyes notched his eighth three-hit effort of the season and his third since joining Salt Lake. The third baseman has back-to-back games with a hit and has pushed his on-base streak to six games. Reyes doubled for the 23rd time in 2026, while he collected his 10th multi-RBI game of the year.
- Yolmer Sánchez notched his third three-hit game of the season and first since June 19 vs. Tacoma. Sanchez collected a pair of doubles on Saturday marking his second multi-double game of the season (May 1 vs. Sacramento). It is the ninth time in Sánchez’ Triple-A career he collected three hits with two of them being doubles marking the first time he has done so since Sept. 14, 2024 with Syracuse.
- Tallying his first multi-hit effort tonight since July 5 vs. Las Vegas was Ben Gobbel. The nine-hole hitter delivered an RBI single, his first run driven home in the month of August. Gobbel scored on that trip on the basepaths, his 25th with Salt Lake in 2026.
- Gustavo Campero continued his torrid stretch, managing a two-run double that gave the Bees their first lead of the night. It is his seventh consecutive game with an RBI, logging 10 total over that stretch. He also walked for the fifth time at Triple-A this season, pushing his OBP to .439 with Salt Lake. Campero holds a six-game hit streak and has scored in consecutive games, posting 12 total runs in 15 games at the level in 2026.
- Starter Ryan Costeiu made his Triple-A debut tonight, firing three innings of work. The Walnut Creek, Calif., native collected his first strikeout at the level, getting Ryan Fitzgerald to swing at a 94 MPH fastball that ended the opening inning.
- The first reliever out of the Bees’ arm barn, Kyle Roche, also debuted at Triple-A tonight. The Massachusetts native spun two innings of one-run ball and walked three in his outing. Roche induced a 5-3 double play to complete his first performance at the level, following 38 appearances with High-A Tri-City this season.
- Sammy Peralta collected his first win with Salt Lake in 2026, after one inning of work. He last was the winning pitcher of record as a Bee on September 3, 2025 vs. El Paso after seven innings of work in a start. Peralta last tallied a win out of the bullpen with Salt Lake on August 23, 2025 vs. Reno; he is 5-1 as a reliever in his Bees tenure.
- Kaleb Ort came in and secured a five-out save for the first time in his professional career. The right hander retired five of the six Comets he faced, only surrendering a one-out single to Ryan Ward. Ort has seven saves this season and picked up his first since July 19 vs. Reno.
