SUGAR LAND, TEXAS. - Seven Space Cowboy runs over the final three innings handed Salt Lake a 8-2 loss, their fourth straight defeat. Christian Moore’s two RBI gave the Bees a 2-1 lead after five innings, but wasn’t enough for the visitors to avoid their 20th loss of the second half.

Game Summary
Two-out hitting was utilized early for Sugar Land on Thursday, taking the lead with a double and RBI single in the opening frame.
After a scoreless second, Salt Lake evened the score at one in the third. Yolmer Sánchez singled and stole second base, setting up Christian Moore’s RBI base hit to right.
Sam Aldegheri cruised after a long first inning, yielding two walks and sitting down six in a row across his next three frames of work. The southpaw matched his Triple-A career high with seven punchouts through four innings.
Once again, the duo of Sánchez and Moore collaborated to give Salt Lake a 2-1 lead in the fifth. Sánchez walked and stole second ahead of Moore’s two-out double to the wall in right center. Aldegheri induced three flyouts in the bottom half to complete five innings of work and wrap up a solid outing in a bounce back performance.
Dillon Tate walked the first batter he faced in relief and Sugar Land cashed in two batters later. CJ Alexander, who returned from the injured list today, delivered a go-ahead, two-run blast to right center to hand the hosts a 3-2 advantage.
One inning later, the Space Cowboys used two hits and two walks to scratch across two more, doing so off Ben Joyce, in his third appearance of his MLB rehab assignment.
The home squad gained insurance in the eighth, collecting three runs on Trenton Brooks’ three-run blast over the right center field. Despite getting two runners aboard in the ninth, Sugar Land held on to complete the 8-2 victory and hand the Bees their fourth straight defeat.

- Salt Lake dropped its fourth game in a row including eight of its last nine, falling to 49-55 on the year. Thursday’s defeat also marked the 20th loss of the second half.
- The Bees tallied two runs on six hits, dropping to 4-21 when scoring three runs or less and 11-46 when being outhit by the opponent.
- Salt Lake has lost six straight at Constellation Field, dating back to August 14, 2025. In that six-game slide, the Bees have scored exactly two runs in five of those games. Additionally, Salt Lake has yet to win a series in Sugar Land and will need to win three in a row to secure their first ever split in Southeast Texas.
- The Bees saw their streak of six games with a home run come to an end. However, Christian Moore’s double gave Salt Lake its 37th game in a row with an extra base hit trailing only Round Rock (53) for the longest active streak in the PCL.
- Salt Lake has struck out 14 times in each of the first three games of the series. Since play resumed following the All-Star Break, the Bees lead the PCL with 131 offensive strikeouts. The Bees have double digit punchouts in four straight games.
- Sam Aldegheri bounced back in a nice way, spinning five innings of one-run ball in his 13th Triple-A start of 2026. The Italian southpaw matched his Triple-A career high with seven strikeouts (April 22 at Las Vegas, July 18 vs. Reno) while allowing just three hits. It is the second career start at this level in which Aldegheri has yielded one or fewer runs (April 22 at Las Vegas; 5.0 IP, 0 R).
- Niko Kavadas singled to begin his evening. Kavadas has notched a hit in back-to-back games and continues his strong success on the road, batting .315 with 12 extra base hits and an 1.149 OPS away from home.
- Kyren Paris has drawn a walk in nine straight contests, tied for the longest streak at any point in the PCL this season (Albuquerque’s Charlie Condon). Additionally, it is the longest streak by a Bee since Kyle Kubitza had a 10-game stretch in August 2015. Paris now owns an 18-game on-base streak, the longest active by a current Salt Lake hitter.
- An opposite-field single for Yolmer Sánchez pushed his hit streak to three games. The utilityman scored for the first time in four games and has 45 runs on the year. He also swiped two bags Thursday, his first since June 11 at Reno when he had two steals. This is Sánchez’s first season since 2016 in which he has recorded multiple steals in two or more games (two games with Triple-A Charlotte).
- Christian Moore snapped an 0-for-9 slide with a multi-hit and multi-RBI effort. His single tied the game at one, while his double gave Salt Lake a 2-1 lead. It marks consecutive nights with an RBI and now has a team-leading 54 on the year.
- Dillon Tate’s scoreless streak was snapped at six innings after allowing two runs in his single inning of work. It is the most runs Tate has surrendered in a single outing since May 16, 2025 with Triple-A Buffalo (vs. Worcester).
- Ben Joyce reached 100 MPH on 11 of his 21 pitches during his third appearance on his current rehab assignment. The University of Tennessee alum allowed two runs over his 0.2 inning outing tonight. Joyce topped out at 102.2 MPH in Thursday’s appearance.
- Tayler Saucedo only threw four pitches tonight, but three of them were strikes. The lefty recorded one out in his appearance, ending the seventh inning with a groundout.
- Tonight marked the first time Kaleb Ort did not record an out in an outing this season. The right hander walked two and allowed a single, before giving up a three-run homer. It is the first time Ort has given up three or more earned runs since June 11 at Reno (1.0 IP, 3 H, 4 ER).
- Pablo Reyes added to a successful July with a single in the ninth inning, pushing his month’s batting average to .353 (18-for-51). He snapped an 0-for-9 slump with the base knock, most recently getting a hit last Thursday (July 23).
- Bryce Teodosio got over an 0-for-12 slide with a ninth inning single. His hit came in a 2-1 count, where he is batting 7-for-10 (.700) over the campaign.
