Game Summary

Dirty Sodas starter Joel Hurtado retired the side in order to open the game, setting the stage for an early surge by the home offense. After a lineout to start the bottom of the first, Utah drew three consecutive walks to fill the bases. Raudi Rodriguez then delivered his first extra-base hit as a Bee, driving a three-run triple into the right-center gap to make it 3-0.

Bryce Teodosio followed right after with an RBI single to score Rodriguez, extending the Dirty Sodas' cushion to 4-0 by the end of the opening frame.

Neither side scored in the second inning. After issuing a leadoff walk, Hurtado and the infield turned a double play. The visiting squad then posed a threat with back-to-back two-out singles. Adrian Del Castillo delivered for the Aces, lining a single to bring home Reno's first run and trim the lead to 4-1.

With one out in the fourth inning, Logan Porter launched his fourth homer of the season. The catcher sailed it into the visitor’s bullpen at 99.1 MPH off the bat to give Salt Lake a 5-1 lead. Christian Moore reached on an error after the round-tripper and Kyren Paris came through with a double to the left-center gap to extend the lead to 6-1 after four innings.

The Dirty Sodas pushed their advantage to 8-1 through five innings by adding two more runs in back-to-back frames. Jeimer Candelario scored when an errant throw followed a stolen base, and Bryce Teodosio capped the rally by swiping home for his second steal of the inning.

In the sixth, Utah pushed its lead further by scoring twice for the third inning in a row. With two outs, Jeimer Candelario came through with a single and crossed the plate for the frame's first run. Rodriguez followed by ripping his second triple of the night to score Candelario, giving the Dirty Sodas their 10th run of the contest and marking their second two-out run of the inning.

Cade Marlowe kickstarted the seventh inning with a solo shot for his 11th home run of the campaign, pushing the Dirty Sodas' lead to 11. Utah then capped off its offensive night with a 12th run in the bottom of eighth when Candelario came home on a force out.

Leonard Garcia came in and shut the door on the Dirty Soda’s second straight lopsided win.

Game Notes

  • All nine members of Salt Lake’s lineup reached base safely. Salt Lake has now accomplished this feat in back-to-back games. Additionally, every member of the starting lineup scored at least once for the first time since a 15-3 win on June 4 vs. Albuquerque.
  • Salt Lake won its fifth straight game, matching a season-long winning streak set May 21-26. The Bees have scored at least eight runs and had double-digit hits in six straight games and have scored 10+ runs in three consecutive contests.
  • Tonight was the team’s first Wednesday victory in their last five tries, last doing so on July 1 vs. Las Vegas in a 4-0 win. It is the fourth win when the team has donned the Utah Dirty Sodas identity; Salt Lake improved to 7-13 on the day of the week.
  • The Bees have hit a home run in five straight games, the longest active team streak in the PCL and tied for second best in Triple-A behind Rochester’s 13 straight games. Salt Lake has eight longballs from seven different hitters in this span, with Cade Marlowe hitting two over the five-game streak.
  • All five hurlers on the Bees staff in tonight’s win recorded multi-strikeout performances. Salt Lake pitchers have combined to strike out 11 batters in back-to-back games; it is the first stretch of consecutive 10+ strikeout games since July 31 and August 1 at Sugar Land (11 K and 10 K, respectively). The Bees relievers were excellent, allowing one hit over five scoreless innings of work, pitching a bullpen shutout for the 19th time this season and first since July 26 vs. Omaha (3.1 IP).
  • In the sixth inning, Raudi Rodriguez recorded his second triple of the contest. He joins Denzer Guzman (June 4 against Albuquerque) as the only Salt Lake players to hit two triples in a game this year. The pair of Bees are the first to do so in a year since 2023 when Mickey Moniak and Jared Oliva did so.
  • In his fourth overall start for the Bees—and third this year—right-hander Joel Hurtado allowed the least runs in a Triple-A outing yet. Over four innings of four-hit ball, he surrendered a single run while issuing two walks and recording two strikeouts, bringing him within six punchouts of 400 for his minor league career.
  • After his 31 game on-base streak was snapped on August 15, Kyren Paris has now reached in back-to-back games. Playing shortstop this evening, he drew a nine-pitch walk to mark his 44th base on balls of the season and the 80th of his Triple-A career. In addition to extending his hit and RBI streaks to two straight games on a double, Paris drove in a run with the two-bagger.
  • Pablo Reyes notched his 50th walk of the season in his first at-bat in the first inning. It was the second straight walk of the frame. Reyes has reached base in four straight games. Reyes walked again in his second at-bat and he now has 10 multi-walk performances this season. The veteran drew three walks in tonight's game. It was the second time he’s done so this year, marking his first such performance since May 21 while with El Paso. Reyes singled with two outs in the seventh, pushing his hit streak to four games.
  • To load the bases in the first, Niko Kavadas worked the third straight walk of the inning. The Notre Dame alum has reached in five straight games. Kavadas walked again in his second at-bat and he now has 11 multi-walk performances this season.
  • Raudi Rodriguez cleared the bases in the first inning in a big way. The new Bee playing in his 12th game with Salt Lake tripled to the right-center gap, scoring all three runs. With his bases-clearing three-bagger, Rodriguez picked up his first extra-base hit as a Bee—and his first triple at any level since May 28 with Rocket City. The three-run liner doubled his Triple-A RBI total from three to six. The outfielder has now reached base in six consecutive contests and in 12 of his first 13 games with Salt Lake, while collecting hits and scoring runs in back-to-back outings. Rodriguez picked up his second triple of the night in the sixth inning, joining Denzer Guzman (June 4 vs. Albuquerque) as the only Bees to tally two triples in a single game this season. Rodriguez is the fourth player in the PCL this season to have two triples in the same game joining Guzman, Oklahoma City’s Alex Freeland and Reno’s Tim Tawa.
  • With two outs in the bottom of the first, Bryce Teodosio drove in Rodriguez after his triple. The South Carolinian has hits and RBIs in back-to-back games. Teodosio has hits in four of his last five games. The outfielder swiped his 20th base of the season in the bottom of the fifth. He becomes the fifth Bees player since 2005 to have multiple seasons with 20+ steals joining Nelson Rada (2025-26), Jordyn Adams (2023-24), Andrew Romine (2011-12) and Terry Evans (2007, 2009). The stolen base was his first since 7/19 against Reno and first since coming back from the injured list. Immediately after, Teodosio swiped home, scoring the eighth Bees run of the game.
  • After falling just a single shy of a cycle last night, Christian Moore made up for it by singling in his second at-bat. Starting at second base, he extended his on-base streak to 15 games (one short of his season-high 16) and his hit streak to four. The hit marked his 101st of the year, following his 100th base hit yesterday.
  • In the fourth inning, Logan Porter hit his fourth home run of the season with one out. The catcher extended his hitting streak to three games, while also scoring a run and recording an RBI for the second consecutive contest.
  • Leading off the fourth inning, Jeimer Candelario was hit by a pitch. On the plunking, the veteran pushed his on-base streak to nine games. Candelario then scored on an error. The Brooklyn, N.Y., native tabbed his 75th hit of the season in the bottom of the sixth inning. The knock plated the Bees ninth run of the game. He also has hits in four of his last five games. Candelario scored twice in tonight’s game as he’s now just one run from 50 on the season.
  • Cade Marlowe singled in his third at-bat. The knock extended his on-base streak to four games and hit streak to three games. Marlowe launched his 11th home run of the year to start off the seventh inning. It marked his second straight game with a homer, a feat he last accomplished from July 24–25 against Omaha. Marlowe’s round-tripper was his 13th career longball against Reno.
  • Dillon Tate recorded his first scoreless appearance since 8/1 against Sugar Land. Making his 14th appearance of the campaign, the right-hander struck out three batters while permitting just one single walk. The three punchouts marked his highest single-game total since last season on June 24 with Buffalo. Tate collected his second win with Salt Lake in 2026, both of which have come at home vs. Reno with exactly one scoreless inning (July 17 and tonight).
  • In his seventh appearance, Mitch Farris delivered his first scoreless outing at the Triple-A level. Spanning two innings, he walked two and struck out two. It marked his first run-free performance across any level since pitching a scoreless inning against Baltimore on August 6.
  • With a hit allowed alongside two strikeouts and one walk, Hagen Danner worked a scoreless frame in his Salt Lake debut. The righty extended his streak to five straight scoreless outings going back to his stint with the Louisville Bats. He hasn’t allowed zero runs over five appearances and five innings in the month of August.
  • Leonard Garcia nabbed his second straight scoreless outing in his inning of work. Across six games with Salt Lake, Garcia has struck out nine batters—leaving him just one punchout shy of 10 as a Bee. He issued one walk and fanned two over his inning of work, marking his first back-to-back scoreless outings at any level since July 28–31 with Rocket City.
