WEST SACRAMENTO, CA. - A five-run seventh that surged Sacramento to a 7-6 lead did not faze the Salt Lake Bees on Friday as they worked their magic to take home a second straight extra-inning win, winning 8-7 in 10 innings. Bryce Teodosio ended an 0-for-14 slump with his go-ahead RBI single in the additional stanza before Jared Southard slammed the door shut.

Game Summary
Salt Lake got to work right out of the gate, scoring two in the opening frame. Pablo Reyes and Yolmer Sánchez each connected on run-scoring hits to create the Bees’ early advantage. Omar Martinez added to the lead, growing it to 3-0 on an RBI single in the second. In the third, Niko Kavadas followed a Jeimer Candelario single with a mammoth 433-foot blast, ballooning the margin to 5-0.
Starter Sam Aldegheri was inspired by the early run-support, setting down the first nine River Cats in three perfect innings. However, two singles and a walk began the fourth and cut the deficit to 5-1. A double play and groundout avoided additional damage.
Back-to-back doubles opened the fifth and got the run back, as Kavadas added another RBI for a 6-1 score. Again, Sacramento sliced into the deficit in the home half with a two-out RBI to make it 6-2. Aldegheri kept the score there, finishing his start with five strong innings.
After a scoreless sixth, Trevor Martin ran into trouble in the seventh. The River Cats loaded the bases with two outs, bringing the tying run to the plate. Manager Doug Davis opted for a new arm, righty Hagen Danner, to extinguish the situation. Instead, Sacramento blistered Danner’s first two pitches to flip the score. Parks Harber broke out of his 0-for-24 slump with a bases-clearing double, before Bo Davidson crushed a go-ahead, two-run homer to the right field berm for a 7-6 River Cats lead.
The Bees positioned themselves for a rally in the eighth with a pair of free passes (walk and hit batsman). Cade Marlowe came through with a single through the right side to level the contest at 7-7. A fielder’s choice and strikeout limited Salt Lake to the one run, keeping the game tied.
Neither side was fruitful in the ninth, as Kaleb Ort held down the fort for the Bees. Between the eighth and ninth, the closer struck out a career-high five batters to force extras for the second consecutive night.
On the third pitch of the 10th, Bryce Teodosio ended a 0-for-14 skid with an RBI single through the left side, scoring the ghost runner to give Salt Lake the 8-7 lead. No insurance was secured, as two strikeouts snuffed any shot.
It was up to Jared Southard to capture the Friday night win. The righty redeemed himself from Wednesday’s collapse, wasting no time in the 10th. Two strikeouts, including one to end the ballgame, secured the save for the Texan and made Salt Lake victorious in extras for a second consecutive evening.

- Thanks to the win, manager Doug Davis collected his 965th win in his Minor League managerial career. The Bees’ skipper is in his 14th season at the helm of a professional club, and his 965 wins span across eight different teams. He holds a career record of 965-884 (.522 winning pct); tomorrow’s contest will be his 1,850th game as a manager.
- Tonight was Salt Lake’s 14th extra-inning game, the most in a season since 2008. Salt Lake is three games shy of matching the franchise record of 17 extended contests, accomplished in 1996. This season, the Bees are 7-7 in extras, their most victories in a season since 2024 when they managed seven wins. Tonight marked the Bees’ fifth extra-inning win on the road, matching the club’s season high (since 2005) when the 2005 and 2019 squads also collected five road extra-inning victories. This is the first time Salt Lake has played back-to-back extra-inning contests since June 29-30, 2022 at Tacoma (both games were losses). The last time the Bees collected wins in consecutive extra inning games was on July 31 and August 1, 2011 vs. Tucson in walk-offs (3-2 in 10 innings; 4-3 in 11 innings).
- Again, the Bees did what they do best in 2026: win on Fridays. They moved to 16-8 with the victory tonight, holding the second most wins in Triple-A on the day (Rochester has 17), but own the level’s best winning percentage (.667). Salt Lake is one Friday win shy of tying their modern record (since 2005) for most wins on the day (Fridays in 2005); it would also match the most wins on any day of the week in that same timeframe.
- Salt Lake had a fruitful first inning, scoring two runs and drawing one walk tonight. This season, the Bees have 18 runs and 16 walks in the opening frame against Sacramento pitching, representing the most of each category against any club.
- Salt Lake tabbed four stolen bases on the night bringing its season total to 171 (2nd in PCL) and is tied for the fourth most by the club since 2005. Salt Lake leads the Pacific Coast League with 27 stolen bases since August 14 as Pablo Reyes and Bryce Teodosio are each tied for third in the league with five steals during that span.
- It was another fine outing from the Salt Lake starter, as Sam Aldegheri tallied the fifth straight line of at least 5.0 innings. It is the club’s longest stretch since they finished the 2025 season with six straight (September 16-21 at Las Vegas). Five different arms have supplied the strong outings in their current stretch, coming from Hurtado (Aug. 30), Dana (Sept. 1), Kerry (Sept. 2), Costeiu (Sept. 3) and now Aldegheri (tonight).
- The Italian, Sam Aldegheri, was solid tonight, firing five innings of two-run baseball with one walk and five strikeouts. The southpaw went nine up, nine down to begin his outing, doing so for the fifth time in his pro career and second this season (May 17 vs. El Paso). Aldegheri’s five punchouts are his most since August 12 at El Paso (also five).
- Cade Marlowe managed a three-hit ledger with a double for his third multi-hit effort in his last six games. The two-bagger was his 26th in 2026 and third with Salt Lake. Marlowe drew a walk, his 50th free pass of the season and 175th in his Triple-A career. In that trip, he swiped second for his 30th stolen base in 2026. Marlowe came through with a game-tying RBI single in the eighth, his 11th RBI with Salt Lake and 61st in 2026.
- Pablo Reyes increased his career-long hit streak to 15 games on a first-inning RBI single. It is the second longest streak by a Bee in 2026 and good for the second longest active stretch in the PCL. During his streak, Reyes has swiped five bases (including one tonight), going 5-for-7 on the basepaths.
- Niko Kavadas unloaded a two-run blast in the third inning as part of his second appearance in September. The longball travelled 433 feet and allowed the infielder to score his 200th career Triple-A run. Kavadas added a walk to his ledger, owning a free pass in both games this month. He has reached safely in 11 of his last 12 games played. An RBI double gave him his fifth game in 2026 with multiple extra-base hits, as well as his 11th multi-RBI effort this season.
- Yolmer Sánchez made it 2-0 on his RBI single, moving his hit streak to five games and his on-base streak to 10 games. Sánchez has a team-leading 67 RBI and sits 14th in the PCL in that category.
- Bryce Teodosio delivered in the 10th inning, tallying the go-ahead RBI with a single to left. The hit ended an 0-for-14 skid, but he also drew two walks tonight for his second such effort in 2026 (Aug. 18 vs. RNO & tonight). A stolen base in the extra stanza moved him to 71 swipes as a Bee, six shy of tying third on the franchise list (Terry Evans, 77 SB, 2007-10).
- A second-inning RBI single ran Omar Martinez’s on-base streak to seven games, matching his season high (May 26-June 4). Tonight’s base hit notched the catcher’s first knock since a three-hit ledger on August 14 at El Paso. He walked in the eighth, his third straight contest with a free pass.
- Jeimer Candelario singled today ahead of Kavadas’ homer and has a hit in 11 of his last 12 games. The infielder holds a three-game hit streak and scored in two straight games. Candelario later doubled to mark his second straight game with an extra-base hit.
- Raudi Rodriguez came in as a pinch-runner and stole second, his fifth Triple-A swipe. He has 32 across all levels this season. Rodriguez scored his fourth run of the month, his 91st score in 2026 and second straight night with a run. A 10th-inning walk allowed him to reach base safely in consecutive contests.
- Trevor Martin had tossed 1.2 scoreless innings of work, before exiting with the bases full of River Cats. He was saddled with three earned runs that scored on a three-run double, ending his 4.2 inning streak without yielding an earned run. The righty walked two tonight and has issued eight free passes across his last four outings.
- Hagen Danner’s first two pitches of his outing were clobbered, giving up a bases-clearing double and then a two-run roundtripper. The righty was responsible for the latter two runs in his 0.1 innings, his second Salt Lake outing where he surrendered a pair of scores. Danner had not allowed any runs since August 22 vs. Reno, posting back-to-back shutout performances.
- Kaleb Ort was dominant in his two-inning scoreless outing, logging a career-high five strikeouts. It is the second time this season he has reached that mark (June 27 at Albuquerque) and eighth total in his professional career.
- Jared Southard tallied his third save of the season tonight and first since June 16 vs. Tacoma. The Texan redeemed himself Friday with a perfect 10th, after his collapse on Wednesday night (double, walk, walk-off three-run homer given up). Southard’s two strikeouts gave him his first multiple punchout outing since August 26 at Tacoma.
